Very good evening in your restaurant, everything was perfect from start to finish. Cuisine, service and welcome.

Been in France for 4 weeks and this is the best food we have had and we have had lots of good food. The preparation was ideal and the fish cooked to perfection-not overcooked- to bring out true flavors. The gals that own it have been doing this 35 years! Run don’t walk and enjoy.

We spontaneously got a table without a reservation and with a dog. Service was attentive and friendly, food was very good and the greeting from the kitchen with an aperitif was also a pleasure.

L’Océanic is THE fish restaurant in Chinon and so we were initially very happy to get a table for dinner without a reservation. However, this happiness became increasingly clouded the more we received the distant, unfriendly service that almost bordered on snooty and inappropriate. (Among other things, perhaps eye contact when pouring, asking whether you would like another drink or whether it tasted good, should actually be a given!) For the meal: as an entrée we had smoked salmon, which was very cleverly served under a glass dome with aromatic smoke. A decent portion with some toast and homemade herb cream cheese sour cream. When it came to the main course, however, it was day and night: Shrimp with black tagliatelle was a special taste experience (5 *) but the sauce for the turbot fillet was unfortunately bland and the side dishes here were extremely “clear” (a mini potato, a tablespoon of excellent carrot mousse, a teaspoon of spinach...). Since we are not fans of sweets and because of the service, we skipped cheese and dessert, and at least one of us went home hungry... When it comes to drink prices (we had the open white wine and mineral water), L'Océanic also plays in the Champions League.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time, it's great what the chef does with fish and mussels. You should also definitely enjoy the cheese! It's a shame that we live 700 m away.

Einfach phantastisch, alles war sehr sehr lecker, ausgefallene Fischgerichte, kreativ, wir waren begeistert. Nette Atmosphäre, freundliche Bedienung und tolles Ambiente.
