Eleanor of Aquitaine, her husband Henry II, their son Richard the Lionheart, and their daughter-in-law are buried there.
Very impressive and not at all creepy.

Had a special trip here on our way to Caen. What a fabulous Abbey, and the restaurant which includes a lovely outdoor eating/drinking area too, serves delicious fresh salads, sandwiches, cakes, drinks and more.

This place gives you a feeling of how life was during the different periods during the rich history of this Abbey.
One of the most impressive abbey’s I’ve seen.
The art in the museum next to it is well presented but not my thing.

A pleasant visit; the buildings are particularly beautiful from the outside, but unfortunately the interior is a bit too empty. The walls are decorated, but there's a lack of explanation and videos. Special mention goes to the video room, which has very beautiful images. The exteriors are nothing special, and the exhibition is, in my opinion, a bit disappointing. I think the ticket is a little expensive.

A place where you can feel the history. The peace and coolness of the walls immediately captivated us. We particularly enjoyed the room where the history of the abbey is projected onto the walls.

A major historical site to visit, home to the tombs of the 12th-century kings of England and Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, is the Plantagenet Abbey!
The architecture is beautiful, and all the buildings are very well preserved. The kitchens, with the first fireplaces built in France worthy of the name, are a must-see.
The cloister is particularly beautiful.
The Museum of Modern Art is interesting, but the display of some modern works within the abbey itself is completely out of place, especially given the relatively few historical artifacts.
