A magnificent place steeped in history. However, the lighting installations detract from the magic of certain areas when we visit during the day. There is also some damage in the crypt that deserves to be repaired.

The entire abbey is particularly well restored and presented with restraint. One minor criticism is the structure framing the recumbent effigies and illuminating the abbey church, which is far too conspicuous for my taste.

A wonderful experience; I came for my mother-in-law's birthday and she loved it. It's a shame that not everything was accessible for people with reduced mobility or that the signage was poor.

27/05/2026: We arrived a little late for lunch (14:00) but the hostess was very welcoming. Nice rose wine paired with risotto with asparagus.
