I stopped by Hendaye on my layover on my way from Paris to San Sebastian. There's a wine shop at the front of the entrance and a wine bar at the back. They have a wide selection of wines by the glass, as well as beer and liqueurs. They also have a wide selection of tapas. The portions might be a little too much for one person. There didn't seem to be an English menu, but the staff were happy to assist me in English. They were very friendly and I felt at home.😊

31/01/2026: A warm welcome and good quality food, as always, even if there was a bit of a wait. However, we were very disappointed when it came time to pay: we had called in the morning to confirm that restaurant vouchers were accepted (this was important because our son wanted to treat us with his first vouchers), but in the end, it was impossible to use them on the bill. This was a very embarrassing moment for him, and we had to pay by credit card. It's a shame; we really felt like we were lured in by being told yes on the phone, only to be presented with a fait accompli at the checkout.

Bi Ur Arte

31/03/2026: Excellent meal. The Bi ur arte burger with homemade fries was superb. I highly recommend it.
24/03/2026: A top-notch brasserie bar. Ideal for a lunch break overlooking the sea or for a game of darts, billiards or table football. Friendly and cheerful staff. A good spot after swimming or surfing. Ideal for eating a good triple smash type burger which is excellent, but the menu is comprehensive, there is something for everyone.
