Mémé sur Gerardmer

Great welcome. Lovely terrace. Affordable beer with peanuts (basic beer, admittedly, but still the cheapest half-pint in Gérardmer), well done! Plus, there was a concert!

Been here a few times because the food and coffee for breakfast were fairly good! Very nice breakfast menu which has all you want for a good price! In regards to the retro style; its great and unique in Gerardmer, so keep it up, but I hope they keep improving the idea, because it feels not completely finished. Also it can feel a bit messy too inside due to all the different products. But maybe that’s the charme too. Good experience tho!

What a must-see spot in Gérardmer! The vintage decor undeniably takes us back to our childhood 😊. I've been coming to Gérardmer for five years now, and for five years I've made a point of stopping by this incredible place 😍. My first slight disappointment today was when I ordered a white chocolate milk. The young woman came back and asked if I wanted it hot or cold. I told her I wanted it cold. Our tray arrived with...hot milk in a bowl, while all the other milks at the table were served in glasses with straws. I took the liberty of pointing out that there had been a mistake. The young woman at the till told me I should have specified it 🤔. Which I had done. When the bill came, it was €9, and they asked me for an extra €1 even though I hadn't received what I had ordered. I don't know why 🤷. But I don't blame them. These young women have to learn the trade. We all started somewhere 😉. But they'll need to be more careful next time. All my other experiences at Chez Mémé have been remarkable, and we'll definitely be back next year!

A real gem of a place where we enjoyed our coffees and aperitifs! The staff and the manager are incredibly welcoming, friendly, warm, and efficient! The prices are very reasonable, the rosé is excellent, the wheat beer is great too, and the Viennese hot chocolates are generously topped with whipped cream!!! The place also has a shop with all sorts of things to buy in a retro atmosphere :) We highly recommend it!!! We hope to see you again very soon!

What a surprise to find this gem in the center of Gérardmer, amidst all the tourist traps… Arriving late for lunch, we received a warm welcome and enjoyed a traditional TV dinner, made with seasonal ingredients and very well cooked 👌thank you Grandma ;)

Excellent place with great selection, nice decor and a fantastic location

A pleasant experience overall. The decor is vintage, the restrooms are original, and the tarts are well-presented. The matcha latte was good, although the matcha flavor was too weak (I paid €5.50, whereas at Starbucks, for the same size, I get a much stronger matcha for only 50 cents more; I also had the impression they added sugar). My mother had a croissant, which was quite good, and a coffee, both at a very reasonable price. The service was friendly, but there was a lack of communication between the servers, as one girl came to see us twice after we had already placed our order. Overall, a rather satisfying experience.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported to a world where every detail tells a story: candy jars filled with old-fashioned sweets, wooden furniture, antique clocks, objects from another era… We didn't know where to look, as every corner evoked a memory. But for us, the emotion went even deeper. Our grandmother, whom we simply called "Mémé," passed away during the Covid pandemic. Upon discovering your establishment, that name immediately resonated with us. A wave of emotion washed over us, like a gentle wink from life. You have achieved something rare: creating so much more than just a shop or a tea room. You've created a place where memories come alive, where nostalgia brings a smile as much as it moves you, and where every object seems to have a story to tell. Thank you for this timeless interlude. We simply came for a drink… and we're leaving with a memory filled with emotion that we'll cherish for a long time.
