Very tasty! the ingredients were cut in the kitchen, which made it easier to eat.
The self-service sesame sauce was very thick which I really like, compared to watered down sesame sauce I see at other malatang places.
Definitely would recommend.

Great experience, we tried the Malatang hot soup for the first time and it was great! There is a plenty of vegetables, noodles, seafood, and meat to choose to fill your bowl with everything you like. You can choose from four different bouillons and everything is cooked for you in the broth. We picked the spicy Sichuan soup and it was so good! The service is friendly, the place is clean and simple. There are carafes with water for free for the customers. I can recommend this place to anyone who wants good affordable asian style food.

Delicious and addictive, I went three times already. However, be cautious with the portion as it adds up quickly and it's always been difficult for me to finish my bowl! I would suggest only picking your noodles and then 4-5 ingredients maximum.

This is my favorite malatang place in Paris. The chicken broth is amazing and I had it spicy and not spicy.
The staff is really nice and no communication issues due to me not speaking French. The to go bags are also really good.
It is also not too pricy and the food amount is more than worth it!!
Lastly most places you sit really close to strangers and get almost locked into your seat and I have not had that here! Comfortable seating
Will come here often during my 5-month internship❤️

Paris Food Review | Sister Gu's Spicy Mixed Salad ✨ Two Flavors in One Go
Found authentic Chinese spicy mixed salad in Paris! Tried both the sesame sauce and spicy flavors, instantly bringing back memories of street-side shops in China!
✅ Sesame Sauce Spicy Mixed Salad
The rich and creamy sesame sauce coats every ingredient, savory, smooth, and not cloying.
Meatballs, seafood, seasonal vegetables, and wide noodles soak up the sauce, offering a smooth and mellow taste. A perfect choice for those who don't eat spicy food, bursting with the authentic aroma of northern Chinese mixed dishes.
✅ Spicy Mixed Salad
Enhanced with chili oil and white sesame sauce, it's fragrant, spicy, and incredibly satisfying.
Squid, tofu, and various noodles are coated in chili oil, with a moderate spiciness that intensifies with each chew. A must-try for those who love strong flavors!
📌 Store Highlights
Self-service selection and weighing of ingredients. A wide variety of meat and vegetable ingredients, freshly displayed in refrigerated cabinets, offering a rich selection.
Besides Mala Ban (a type of spicy mixed salad), they also offer Mala Tang (another type of spicy hot pot) and Teppanyaki Xiangguo (a type of hot pot), allowing you to enjoy Mala Ban freely even when you're abroad.

Xiao Gu Jie Jie (a popular food delivery platform) has opened in Paris! I often order takeout from them in Beijing, and they've opened many stores nationwide. Their takeout packaging is great, and the food tastes delicious, so when I saw they opened in Paris, I immediately tried it. A pleasant surprise was that they even have Mala Xiang Guo (a spicy stir-fry dish), my absolute favorite! One bite and tears welled up, as if I were back on campus, enjoying my beloved Tsinghua University-style Mala Xiang Guo from back then!
The process is simple: you choose your own ingredients and meat, they're weighed, and then you choose how you want it cooked. You can choose Mala Tang (a spicy hot pot), Mala Ban (a spicy mixed dish), or Mala Xiang Guo. The Mala Tang comes in various flavors, such as bone broth and tomato. Their most unique offering, which I rarely see in Paris, is the Mala Xiang Guo – you absolutely must try it! Those who enjoy DIY will love the experience of choosing your own ingredients. I loved it too; it brought back memories of eating street food as a child.
The variety of ingredients is very rich, with a full range of vegetables and meats. It was the first time I'd seen fried chicken and roast duck as options, showing the restaurant's thoughtful and innovative approach. The fried chicken tasted surprisingly good in it. Instant noodles are also a must-order; they're the perfect accompaniment to both Mala Xiang Guo and Mala Tang. What impressed me most was the freshness of the vegetables; they weren't droopy leaves, but rather vibrant green.
There was a condiment station where you could choose your own sauces, similar to a hot pot restaurant, catering to different preferences.
The restaurant was quite large, and being a new establishment, it was bright and spacious. The decor was in Xiaogu's signature yellow, which felt very welcoming at first glance.
The location was excellent, in the république, making it very convenient to get to and in a vibrant area, providing a new option for those nearby.

The familiar aroma of spicy hot pot greeted me as soon as I stepped inside, instantly waking my stomach.
The selection was extensive, with both meat and vegetables incredibly fresh.
For someone in Paris craving Chinese food, this was pure bliss.
I got:
🥬Baby bok choy + seaweed + enoki mushrooms
🍢Beef slices + luncheon meat + roast duck
Finally, I opted for the spicy mixed hot pot, and it was unbelievably fragrant.
It wasn't just the typical spicy hot pot; it had a rich, layered aroma.
And the portion was more generous than I expected.
To find such an authentic and satisfying bowl of hot pot in Paris would make me want to come back again and again.
If you also:
✔️Miss spicy hot pot from home
✔️Craving a warm, comforting taste of China
Then this is definitely worth a try!

This was actually my first time trying malatang, so the whole experience felt completely new to me. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and everything. We took a spot right by the open area, which is really cool.
Since it was my first time, I definitely got a little too excited while picking ingredients and ended up taking way too much meat and couldn’t even finish everything. So if you’re new to malatang too, maybe be careful with how much you grab because it adds up quickly.
The cashier was super sweet though, she helped me with sauce recommendations, which I really appreciated. I decided to try the dry version, but personally, I think I’d choose the soup/hotpot style next time. The dry sauce was not my cup of tea since it was kinda hard to finish. Sometimes with dry noodles, some places include a small bowl of soup on the side, but that wasn’t the case here (which is totally fine, maybe it’s just how malatang works)
The hotpot version definitely looks richer and more flavorful in my opinion, so I’d probably go for that next time. As for the price, I can’t really compare it since this was my first malatang but it should be fine as long as you don't overpick lmao
