Last week, I tried several main dishes at Chez Ly and I'm still full of praise for them. Later, I chatted with friends, and they told me that the restaurant's reputation extends far beyond its main dishes—the Cantonese dim sum, such as shrimp dumplings and siu mai, are all handmade by the owner, one by one. Intrigued, my spouse and I went back to Chez Ly today specifically to try the dim sum. We ordered chicken siu mai, steamed shrimp rice rolls, steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce, Guangzhou-style shrimp dumplings, crab roe steamed siu mai, a plate of stir-fried beef noodles, and a pot of chrysanthemum tea. The taste was so authentic, it felt like being in an old Guangzhou restaurant, a delightful surprise. Finally, we had fried glutinous rice balls for dessert, perfectly concluding the meal. After eating the whole set, I couldn't help but give it a thumbs up. Next time, I definitely want to bring my family to share this experience.
