My favorite Asian restaurant: everything is great, the welcome and service are LOVELY, the food is very good, the restaurant is clean and pleasant, I love everything! We come very often with my grandmother.

An excellent restaurant on Rue Garibaldi. We thoroughly enjoyed a variety of specialties. Everything was very fresh, with a special mention for the perfectly golden gyozas served on a boat-shaped platter. The portions are generous and the presentation is elegant, making for a particularly pleasant meal. We will definitely return to try the rest of the menu. A truly delightful experience.

A wide variety of dishes were offered, and the service was quick, discreet, and very pleasant. I chose the yakitori menu, which was rather average, nothing extraordinary, and the quality wasn't necessarily there. The sushi would probably have been a better choice; it seemed to be of higher quality from what I saw. Fine for a quick, no-frills meal.

First order from Nikko and definitely not the last! The salmon was incredibly fresh and delicious, the gyozas were excellent, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the ginger had a wonderful flavor. Everything was perfect; I highly recommend it!

This is my second time in Nikko and it's pure bliss! The atmosphere is warm and the service is very pleasant. The ingredients are fresh and you can taste the difference 🍱! If you're a sushi lover, I highly recommend it 🍣 (I've already tried it both in-store and takeout)

04/07/2026: Another visit to Soleil Levant in Lyon's 3rd arrondissement, at 204 rue Garibaldi, and just as delightful as ever. This restaurant is a true Lyon institution, and for good reason. You're always greeted with a smile by the chef and his wife, who put their heart and soul into their work. This time, I chose the Évasion menu: delicious gyoza as a starter, incredibly fresh sashimi as a main course with traditional Miso Shiru soup, and then three scoops of sorbet (mango, lemon, and coconut), the perfect way to finish this excellent meal. As with every visit, the ingredients are fresh, the dishes are prepared with care, and the flavors are exceptional. It's always a pleasure to return to this iconic restaurant. If you're in Lyon this summer, don't miss this must-try. Whether you're a local or a tourist, you'll discover authentic Japanese cuisine, prepared with passion, in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Many thanks to the chef and his wife for their hospitality and expertise. See you very soon.

14/07/2026: This restaurant is a rare gem in Lyon. I truly had a gastronomic experience; simply put, everything was perfect. Let's start with the dining room, whose decor transports you to another place with its zen and nostalgic ambiance. The lighting is soft, and the room is bathed in tranquility. In short, from the moment you arrive, everything is in place to create the perfect atmosphere for what awaits you. The service is on par with everything else. The dishes are served promptly, and if needed, the staff can advise you on the best sake to accompany your meal, explain the ingredients, and even suggest how to best enjoy each course throughout your culinary journey. And finally, the cuisine, which is simply exceptional. Chef Yong-Joo Kim is an artist; there wasn't a single false note. Everything was meticulously planned to achieve the perfect combination of flavors. He even reconciled me with certain foods I thought I didn't like, such as his special eel sushi, which is one of the best on his 'wasabi' menu. Even the desserts blew me away, and I'm not usually one for sweets, but the two desserts on their menu were both delicious and light. As you've probably gathered from these few lines, I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers in Lyon looking to enjoy authentic Japanese dishes that showcase exceptional ingredients with just the right amount of flavor.
