Saint Emilion restaurant with calm atmosphere, high tables in barrels. Very attentive waiters. Some speak a little Spanish. You can see how they cook. Great variety of wines. Excellent meat. Magret and confit spectacular duck. Salad with local products, very original and tasty. Delicious chocolate and creme brulee dessert. Highly recommended. Price similar to all other restaurants.

We popped in here for a nice bottle of white wine on our way back to the Gare! Friendly staff & very nice wine at a reasonable price! 🙏🙏

Informal restaurant/wine bar in the lower part of St Emilion. All tables are inside but the front is left completely open to the street so it's as good as being outside in the summer; certainly the flies think so. Seating is mainly on high low-backed stools around table tops resting on barrels. Plenty of room to circulate but there is a function room accessed via, and to the side of, the kitchen and it can get crowded if participants are milling round the bar beforehand. Quite a focussed menu, with nothing too flamboyant so I went for the duck breast with a bordelaise sauce and chips. It was a huge piece of meat and cooked almost well done rather than medium as requested. Nonetheless, I was happy to saw away, whilst lubricating the meat with the thin sauce, until the job was done. In the meantime Mrs EPR was dabbing away at an innocuous roasted camembert. Nothing subtle about either dish. For dessert, we tried french toast in caramel sauce which actually was a huge lump of warmed -up bread drizzled with caramel syrup. Again, not delicate but certainly generous. Plenty of wine options, of course, but it's either bottles or by the glass. Only two staff on duty; a young guy doing his very best and getting into a complete frazzle, and the patron who was far more relaxed and had clearly seen it all before. We had bit of an initial wait for food to arrive and between courses but things unclogged once a large group eventually relocated elsewhere. Worth a visit if you fancy something wholesome rather than gourmet.
