Picnic cafe sur Carcassonne

This place is great, warm, and the music is lovely! The owner is very friendly and the waitresses are super smiley, which makes for a great time. The food is simple but good quality, and there's a wide selection of coffees, which is fantastic! I highly recommend this nicely decorated little haven if you're ever in Carcassonne ✨☕️

Fantastic welcome from a new waitress (a welcome change from the two previous ones). They have lots of local products, especially all the breads, which are fresh, and local beer. The owner is incredibly welcoming, smiling, and has a great sense of humor. Their Christmas decorations are magnificent. The portions are generous, so the €8 croque monsieur is definitely worth it! I also had the breakfast option, which was excellent; the French toast was one of the best I've ever had (as was the chai latte). Finally, a restaurant that's returning to authenticity and doesn't treat its customers like cash cows! Plus, they're dog-friendly.

Decent food, but a fairly boring café otherwise

Great location. Pleasant and quiet. On the other hand, the food... a salted caramel waffle with industrial liquid caramel, not salted caramel, and fluffy pancakes that were anything but fluffy, which is a shame...

I went there on Sunday with my sisters because all the others were closed. It was a great discovery. I've never been closer to this restaurant. Today I went out to eat with one of my sisters. We had two croque-monsieurs, very good iced tea, very good, and the desserts were excellent. The service was great. Thanks to the waitress for making sure we had a great time. Always a pleasure to come and relax with a good meal at the Pic Nic Café!

Excellent little cafe with good food at a reasonable price. Some of the nearby places stop serving food at 2PM but this place doesn't. Our waitress was excellent and friendly and really tried to speak English. There were some rude people next to us who apparently needed the concept of a burger explained to them and she did it in a friendly and helpful way. The toilet is naff but that seems to be standard in France.
