Pizzeria Avarello sur Lyon

Amazing pizzas and impeccable service 👌

A typical, cozy, family-run restaurant. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The pizzas and gnocchi are absolutely delicious! Highly recommended

A truly authentic Italian restaurant, run by Italians—the cook and the pizza chef are Italian! The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I have that wonderful feeling of being at home in Italy. Enjoy your meal!

Excellent welcome and very good food

Avatello Pizzeria was hands-down some of the best pizza we have ever had. We’re from the USA, and we honestly haven’t had pizza or salad this good anywhere back home. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. Claudio, the owner, was fantastic—so accommodating, personable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. You can tell immediately how much pride he takes in his restaurant, and it absolutely shows in both the food and the experience. We loved it so much that on our last night in Lyon, we actually cancelled reservations at an extremely highly-rated restaurant just so we could come back to Avatello one more time. That says everything. If you’re in Lyon and love great pizza, this place is an absolute must. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The pizza was utterly delicious, Margarita with the perfect portioned salad to go with. Beer on tap, an Incredible tiramisu, mascarpone, and cold, smooth limoncello all made this place a truly wonderful dining experience. Thank you to the owner for such hospitality and complimenti on a fantastic pizzeria 🙏

A very friendly, family atmosphere, one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality.

Excellent meal: the pizza was fantastic!

Excellent pizza at a great price. The Italian atmosphere is very pleasant, with an added bonus for football fans 😉

Still as good as ever, a traditional family-run restaurant. The owners are as helpful and friendly as always.
