Came here twice during our two weeks in Chamonix. Short walk from the mid station. Great lasagne and omelettes. Amazing view and beautiful setting. Saw a marmott on the walk down.

We stayed overnight in this beautiful mountain hut on August 5th and 6th. It cost €72 per person and was absolutely worth every penny. We first took the Gandel cable car all the way up to the Aiguille du Midi, went for a short walk there, and then got off at the middle station on the way down – this is easily doable. From the middle station, it was about a 15-minute walk to the hut, all with stunning views. As soon as we checked in (important: you have to be there by 6 pm, otherwise they might give your reserved rooms to someone else), we received all the information about our rooms. Dinner was at 7 pm, which was included in the price – a three-course meal (see pictures) that was incredibly delicious. You could also buy drinks there. The wonderful terrace offers beautiful views of both the mountains and the town of Chamonix, and there are plenty of tables and loungers. As soon as you arrive, you can leave your shoes and other belongings in a separate room, and slippers in various sizes are provided, which is very convenient. There are plenty of games like Shahs and Uno available. The room was very tidy, and the beds were very comfortable. All the necessary clothing was provided, so you didn't need to bring anything. In the mornings, we had a typical European breakfast (which was included in the price) and coffee served in a soup bowl, which I personally found quite amusing. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly and always available to help. It was a very warm and enjoyable stay; I would absolutely recommend it and would definitely return myself.

We had a wonderful stay at the Refuge du Plan de l'Aiguille. The welcome was warm, the place was spotless, and the raspberry tart was incredible. The only downside, and it was a major one, was the evening meal. By far the worst we've ever had in a mountain refuge, to the point where we seriously wondered if it was reheated dog food with a bit of rice. It's a shame, because pasta with butter, a little cheese, garlic, and pepper would have been more than enough. The rest of our stay was impeccable. With decent evening meals, this refuge would be exceptional.
