I recently discovered this place; I was told it was great, and indeed, the food was delicious. It had a large terrace, a friendly welcome, and a good atmosphere. It's just a shame that the waiter was wearing a cap, and given the intense heat of August (it wasn't a heatwave that evening, but considering the current temperatures in France...), the water wasn't automatically refilled. When we asked, we received a tiny carafe for three people, and it wasn't replenished. However, once we got ice cream, we were thirsty, so it's just a suggestion for improvement in service. Otherwise, it was fantastic.

A near-mandatory stop every time we're in Caluire with the family, with a wide selection of flavors, toppings, and extras. Another great point: as soon as we sat down, the server automatically placed a carafe of fresh water on the table, something we're used to in many other countries, but not in France—a detail worth mentioning. The only downside: the prices have gone up a bit. Increased cost of raw materials? Probably. However, the prices remain reasonable.

18/09/2026: We always enjoy returning to O Capot, for its location and atmosphere, its cuisine, and its very friendly and professional staff. One point to note regarding safety: the step inside is very poorly marked, a risk of falling is guaranteed; one of us experienced this firsthand.
18/09/2026: We were a group of five on a Thursday evening, mainly there for drinks. We absolutely loved the atmosphere; it was so cool and friendly: the pretty lights, people chatting, eating, playing pétanque… everything created a really pleasant ambiance. After 10 pm, it got a little chilly, but I was offered a blanket, a very thoughtful touch that allowed me to stay outside until midnight. On the other hand, I found the prices a bit high for food and drinks. We ordered a mixed charcuterie/cheese board for €20 to share, but we were disappointed by the quantity, quality, and selection. I would gladly come back for a drink, especially when the weather is nice, because the atmosphere is definitely worth it. However, I don't think I'll be back for a meal.

19/08/2026: I came with my girlfriend for her birthday. No disappointment whatsoever, quite the opposite. Quick and efficient service. The waiters and waitresses took the time to suggest wines that perfectly complemented our meals. Simple but delicious cuisine. I recommend it for any special occasion.
