It's lovely to see the Spanish Bridge at the same time as the large waterfall!

A magnificent place with its majestic waterfalls and fir forests, an absolute must-see. I was lucky enough to go to Canada and the landscapes are almost the same, without crossing the Atlantic.

A superb place for a walk.
When the mist rolls in, this landscape transforms into a multitude of subjects.

A beautiful spot for waterfall enthusiasts, but the fixed parking fee, in place year-round, somewhat spoils the experience. You have to pay for the crowds, but also sometimes for the peace and quiet.

The Pont d'Espagne is a natural tourist attraction in the French Pyrenees, located at an altitude of approximately 1,500 m in the commune of Cauterets in the Hautes-Pyrénées department.
It is a protected area in the Pyrenees and part of the Pyrenees National Park. It also houses a cross-country ski area, part of the Cauterets winter sports resort.
The site was a transit point for trade with Spain. From the mid-19th century, it became a popular destination for high society, and then, from the 1960s onward, a destination for mass tourism.
Severely degraded by car traffic and tourists, it underwent a major rehabilitation project in the late 1990s. Access to the Pont d'Espagne was closed, some buildings were demolished, and natural areas were restored. Furthermore, the 1995 Tour de France planned a stage finish at the Pont d'Espagne. But due to the environmental problems that the race would have posed, especially as the site is located in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, the finish had to be moved to Cauterets three months before the start of the race.

Great, especially with the snow. Be careful, it can be slippery on the trail when the snow is frozen. You can even go further than the lake on snowshoes. Really beautiful.
