02/08/2026: A magnificent but very popular monument. It offers a view of the enormous waterfall, which has a very powerful and beautiful flow. This is the starting point for two hikes: one to Lake Gaube and the other to the valleys. Choose the valleys as they are much less crowded and the panoramas will leave you with unforgettable memories.

14/08/2026: You can go there without hesitation. Excellent, high-quality cuisine. Very good ingredients. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. A comprehensive but limited menu, as is to be expected with homemade dishes. An exceptional trout and cheese dish. The gourmet coffee or tea at €12 is a bit pricey, even for homemade. I gave it 3 stars for the atmosphere because it was quite noisy, with regulars talking very loudly and bursts of laughter.

13/08/2026: An excellent restaurant in Cauterets! We had a wonderful time at Pintxoak. The food is truly homemade, generous, and full of flavor, with expertly prepared ingredients. Everything was excellent, from the appetizer to the dessert! The staff is very pleasant, welcoming, and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. This restaurant is definitely worth discovering and one you'll want to return to. I highly recommend Pintxoak without hesitation! A fantastic find!

My partner stepped out of her comfort zone and ordered the goat cheese and blueberry galette, and she loved it! I haven't even finished my Peguère yet, which I also highly recommend. 22/08/2026: We had a reservation for 1:00 PM and they didn't take our order until 1:35 PM. The most infuriating thing was that people arrived later and their orders were taken first, I suppose because they were so overwhelmed they didn't notice. This really spoiled the experience, which was a shame because the crepes are delicious. I guess these things happen when you take on more reservations than you can handle.

16/08/2026: Like something out of a Kitchen Nightmares episode! The night before, we wanted to eat at the restaurant, which was half empty. The owner told us it was "completely full" for that evening. We made a reservation for the next day at 9 pm. When we arrived, in an empty dining room, the owner forgot about us and greeted the customers behind us, who were "embarrassed" to admit we had arrived earlier. He seated us, forgetting the carafe of water. We quickly realized we were going to be waiting a very long time to be served. No one was eating at our table. After a 25-minute wait, following numerous requests, a waiter finally took our order: two Pyrenean cheeses and a bottle of cider. We took the opportunity to ask for a carafe of water, and he said, "I'll bring it right away." We were still waiting 15 minutes later. This wait allowed us to "fraternize" with other restaurant patrons who were just as bewildered as we were by the situation. We ended up helping the servers by fetching water ourselves or preparing plates to help with clearing. A series of mistakes piled up: bad wine, bad crepes, forgotten cutlery. We wondered if we were on a hidden camera show. One of the servers, all of whom were very friendly (which explains the final rating I gave the restaurant), explained that "there are only two of them and they have to do everything themselves." I would have gladly accepted the excuse, but the repeated service errors were, in my opinion, unforgivable and stemmed primarily from an organizational problem. In conclusion, I wouldn't discourage anyone from going to the creperie. The crepes were good (even if we got "péguères" instead of "pyrénéennes" 😅), but the restaurant's rating is clearly inflated. Don't be in a hurry; you'll be in the restaurant for at least an hour and a half. Looking back, I have very fond memories of the trip; we had a lot of laughs!

13/07/2026: Thank you for this wonderful evening, just like being at home, and that's an understatement. The staff were lovely, and the food... well, let's just say it was amazing! Thank you to Mamma for the Milanese veal cutlets (yes, several, because there was more than one on the plate!), prepared according to my Sicilian grandmother's time-honored recipe. All accompanied by a good Sicilian wine. Don't hesitate... this restaurant is perfect for big eaters on a budget, but be sure to book: €65 for two courses, two coffees, and a bottle of wine at €24 (the most expensive option).

12/07/2026: Visited in the middle of summer, air conditioning not on. The pizza was a bit bland, but the service was pleasant despite the wait during the busy season.

03/04/2026: It's a very pretty and comfortable hotel right in the center of the village, just steps from the thermal baths and the gondola lift to the slopes. We received a very warm welcome, both charming and professional. Our room was lovely, bright, comfortable, and well-heated, with absolutely everything we needed (and even a few extras). Breakfast is perfect, served in the ski bar below the hotel. The ski bar is also a great place to have lunch and afternoon tea after skiing. Fantastic! We'll be back.

24/02/2026: Once again, a flawless experience for this hotel and all its staff! We come here very regularly as a family (grandparents, children, and grandchildren), and for us, it's the best option in the entire region: a charming hotel with all-wood decor, very well maintained, with many thoughtful touches both in and out of the room, and a fantastic team: special mention to Ambre, Matthias, and all the staff (including the wonderful housekeepers). We can't wait to come back!

20/08/2026: A major disappointment. The online reviews were promising, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We ordered a Savoyard fondue for two: stale bread is part of the recipe, we knew that, but half the basket had blue mold, which is clearly unacceptable. We also ordered a Burgundy fondue for two. We had serious doubts about the freshness of the meat, which seemed oxidized, as well as the Béarnaise sauce that came with it. The fifth person ordered a Camembert cheese with charcuterie, supposedly from local artisanal producers. Again, the quality left us perplexed and raises questions about the actual origin of the products. As a result, none of the five of us were able to eat properly, between the moldy bread, the questionable meat, and the disappointing charcuterie. This establishment clearly doesn't deserve its Google rating. And to top it all off, the bill was still high for this level of service. We do not recommend it.
