It's absolutely magnificent! Too bad I can't walk! Well, €8 for half an hour in the parking lot! I still think that's excessive!

The very spacious parking lot (€8) is easily accessible by car. From there, we walked to Lac du Gaube. This walk is estimated to take about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and as a family with three children aged 7, 10, and 12, we completed it in exactly that time. Along the way, we took regular breaks to catch our breath and take some photos. The climb is manageable and feels like a natural staircase. Upon arrival at the top, there is a calm lake, where a fairly fresh breeze can blow. The restaurant was still closed in April. For the return journey, we walked back via the Belvédère viewpoint at the top of the cable car. From there, you can ski down the slope. Along the way, we saw some beautiful waterfalls, a very nice conclusion to this walk.

A beautiful hike to Lac de Gaube, which is magnificent. There's still a bit of snow on the mountains. Its reflection in the lake makes for a superb panoramic view. We were lucky enough to spot a mouflon in the parking lot.

Magnificent! Accessible even to beginner hikers 😉 There's a restaurant at the foot of the waterfall or at the refuge a little further on.

What a magnificent place! A lovely, well-preserved bridge. Impressive numbers of waterfalls with surprising flow rates. A feast for the eyes. Then an hour's walk to reach Lake Gaube—what beauty and tranquility! A true moment of escape. Pure pleasure...

12/04/2026: We were craving raclette. There were three of us. We were happy to be there, arriving promptly at 7:00 PM, and received a warm welcome. We chatted with the waiter. The presentation of the meal was nice. We'd been hiking all day and were hungry. We asked for an extra portion for two of us (which meant the cost of two additional courses) and a dessert (a runny panna cotta). We were told there was no problem as long as we left before 9:00 PM, because there was a second seating! And that's where we were disappointed. We understand there's a second seating, but to be told we had to leave quickly... We didn't find that very professional. In fact, we got the impression that the staff was suddenly less friendly. In short: We ate well (it's still raclette, but the ingredients were good quality). The atmosphere was pleasant during the first hour. But we didn't understand this attitude, especially since we spent over €150 between the three of us. 🤷
