A magnificent but very popular monument. It offers a view of the enormous waterfall, which has a very powerful and beautiful flow. This is the starting point for two hikes: one to Lake Gaube and the other to the valleys. Choose the valleys as they are much less crowded and the panoramas will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Superb... I recommend starting from Cauterets, going to the bridge... then up to Lake Gaube... 3 hours 30 minutes uphill and 2 hours 30 minutes downhill.

I'm deducting one star for the €8 parking fee. The site is undeniably remarkable, and the information available on-site is clear and easy to access. There are restrooms on-site, as well as a bar/restaurant near the bridge.

The Pont d'Espagne waterfall is a marvel after visiting Lake Gaube.
A magnificent walk, an absolute must if you're in this beautiful corner of the Hautes-Pyrénées.

A very pleasant place, but we took the path to the waterfalls. The path is shaded with a lovely view of the waterfalls, but contrary to what the guidebooks might say, it's not at all easy to do as a family with children.

The Pont d’Espagne is an absolutely unmissable natural site in the Pyrenees and is one of the Grands Sites d’Occitanie (Great Sites of Occitanie). The landscapes are simply breathtaking, with waterfalls, forests, peaks, and streams. It’s an ideal spot for mountain lovers.
The parking lot is paid (€8 per day), but it provides easy access to the site. To reach the Pont d’Espagne, you can choose between taking the gondola for the first ascent or hiking up the trails, depending on your preference and fitness level.
From the Pont d’Espagne, you can also reach the magnificent Lac de Gaube either by chairlift or on foot via a trail of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The lake is well worth the detour with its exceptional setting.
For dining, several options are available, both at the Pont d’Espagne and at Lac de Gaube, allowing you to make the most of your day.
A word of advice, however: in the mountains, the weather can change very quickly. It is strongly recommended to check the weather forecast before setting off, to wear appropriate hiking gear (good shoes, water, suitable clothing), and to be in good physical condition. The trails do not present any major technical difficulties, but some sections are still demanding and require a minimum level of endurance.
An exceptional place that I highly recommend!
