Beautiful and easily accessible for short walkers.

We didn't pay for parking, which is usually €8. I don't know if it was because it was a weekday. From the bridge to the lake, it's an hour's walk uphill, which is quite long. Even during a heatwave, it was really nice there. A very beautiful place. The restaurant by the lake only accepted cash.

Beautiful. You can take the cable car and chairlift at different prices for groups or individuals, or you can walk up. The path is rocky. I recommend good shoes. There's a good parking area.

The route from Pont d'Espagne to Lake Gaube is one of the most beautiful hikes in the French Pyrenees. The scenery is spectacular, with waterfalls, forests, and a stunning lake surrounded by mountains. However, it's worth noting that the climb is quite steep and much of the route is over large boulders. There are very few flat sections, so although the distance isn't very long (6 km round trip), the ascent requires considerable physical effort. If you go in summer, my main recommendation is to start early. Ideally, you should begin walking from the parking area (Du Puntas) no later than 9:00 a.m. and start the return from the lake before 12:00 p.m. There's plenty of shade during the ascent, which makes the walk more pleasant, but there are fewer shaded areas on the descent, and if it's hot, the final stretch can be quite tiring. It's essential to bring sunscreen, a hat, breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, and, if possible, hiking boots or shoes. I also recommend bringing trekking poles to avoid straining your knees during the descent. Don't forget plenty of water and something to eat, like nuts or a small lunch, to enjoy a break by the lake. There's also a bar there where you can have a drink or a meal with incredible views. I wouldn't recommend this climb for people with reduced mobility. A good alternative is to take the cable car up and, from there, walk along the practically flat path that leads to the lake. It's also a much more comfortable option for families with young children. The parking is paid and has different rates depending on the length of time you park, so keep this in mind before starting your hike. And one last tip: at the end of the descent, just as you leave the cobblestone path behind, walk up the paved road to the left for a few minutes until you reach the Pont d'Espagne (Spain Bridge). The views from there are spectacular, and it's absolutely worth ending the hike with that stop. In short, a must-do excursion if you're visiting this area. It's challenging due to the elevation gain, but the effort is rewarded with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pyrenees.

The route to Lac de Gaube is also absolutely breathtaking.

Huge parking lot, it costs 8 euros per day and 13 euros for more than one day. You can leave a campervan overnight without any problem, as it's the starting point for many day trips and multi-day excursions.

It's a basic bridge... Put the waterfall right before it because it's truly magnificent.

Waterfall is really cool and little cafe to grab a beer or ice cream to hang for a while. Make sure to make it up to the lake which to me is highlight at this park though.

A beautiful hike, from the fixed-fee parking lot of €8 to the absolutely stunning waterfalls. The climb to the lake, along the forest trail, is enchanting and not too challenging. For the descent, we chose the wider route because it was about to rain. If you're having trouble, you can take the chairlift up and down. The views of the lake are beautiful.
