The 1789 is one of our favourite restaurants, the food is fantastic. We always look forward to our visit and are never disappointed.

Don't believe everything negative that you read! I love this place. Been coming here for years. I came for pierade and profiteroles with my son on a busy Sunday night in April. The service was prompt, the food was delicious, the waitresses were attentive and polite. I think the price is a good value reflection of the quality. Final word: you're in France, speak French. It might enhance your entire experience!

My only regret is not staying in Val d'isere long enough to work my way through the menu! The cote de boeuf was exceptional, as always. See you next year.

Wonderful evening with family on our last night. Exceptional food, all dishes, staff very friendly and effecient, great wine list and a buzzing warm family atmosphere. Tradtional French Alpine cooking doesnt get much better than this, and they really know how to cook a steak. Dont miss a night here if yoy are in Val D'Isere.

Excellent steaks, perfectly cooked while service was very efficient with good advice on food and drink. Open fire and tightly packed tables made for a very convivial atmosphere.

The meat was excellent, the side portions were unfortunately too meager for 2 people, and we regretted the unpleasant and disorganized service. The only restaurant in the resort where we had this feeling, which is a shame because the atmosphere was great.
