Restaurant 1789 sur Val-D'Isere

Great steak cooked on an open grill. Service was excellent, another super meal. We come every time we are in Val.

Amazing place, excellent service and food. I recommend the baked egg and the delicious wood-fired ribeye steak.

Wonderful yet simple little restaurant with friendly service. They do 2 seatings and we were in the 1st seatings. As they only have a few staffs, you do have to wait for service but they will eventually and definitely come to you. The menu has a reasonable number of choices but this is the place for their grilled meat. We had a cote de bouef which was cooked over an open fire and was wonderful as expected. They are friendly with children and a couple of them (including ours) were celebrating their birthday. Whole restaurant sang the birthday song and it was a wonderful experience for them. I would recommend it if you are after a simple non fuss meal with good value. If you are after something extravagant, there are other choices in town. Reservation is a must.

A charming, professional, and attentive team, generous and high-quality cuisine, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Having been going there for several years, I believe it's a must-visit if you want to have a great time during your vacation. I recommend it 100%.
