We had Alsatian main courses, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The Café Gourmand (a platter with a selection of desserts) for dessert was excellent. The service was friendly. We had a very pleasant time sitting on the outdoor terrace. Tip: Admission to the La Seigneurie Museum, located directly across the street, is valid all day – it's a good idea to visit part of it and then take a break at the Roter Ochse before exploring the rest!

The food was delicious and generously portioned; we had a lovely time on the terrace. And a huge thank you to the servers, especially the waitress, who went all out for my girlfriend's birthday 🙂

Pleasant terrace overlooking the village square. The food was well-prepared, but the portions weren't very generous. The menu could be better balanced with more salad options. The service was welcoming, but there were some shortcomings in the follow-up (water, bread, drinks with the meal).

A spontaneous dinner for two after a few days of hiking in this beautiful region. The terrace provided a lovely setting for this August evening, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The wine pairings will delight wine lovers.

17/06/2026: I gave the hotel overall 5 stars, because the rooms are not big, but clean, the terrace with view of the vineyards and parts of the village is great, the stuff is very friendly, the breakfast fabulous and the dinner and wines are really nice as well. And the price is good value. I looked at other places in the area as well and because of the combination of all of the above I prefer this hotel by far.

23/05/2026: Small Salon de The. Plenty of choice regarding sandwiches and cakes. Personally, I enjoyed Earl Grey tea and a cake, a bit like Tom Poes.
21/05/2026: Excellent bakery and pastry shop. Top-quality products. Lovely tea room with friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
