The service was amazing, the blonde lady that served us was so kind and helpful. The food and wine were excellent. FYI it was a difficult hour late at night and they were the only restaurant in the area that was willing to serve us outside. Highly recommended! 😌

When nobody else was accepting us to sit outside, the lady of this restaurant was very welcoming, accepted us in the terrace immediately as per our request, there is also good selection of wines and local dishes that are very tasty

Anyone who truly wants to experience Alsace – not as a postcard, but as a living tradition on a plate – should visit Restaurant St. Jean. The snails arrived as a starter: marinated in a homemade garlic sauce, clearly prepared with genuine care and passion. Buttery soft, aromatic, utterly irresistible. A dream that immediately raised expectations for the rest of the evening – and these expectations were not disappointed. The main course: a traditional tarte flambée, just as it should be. Thin, crispy, and honest. I ventured a slight departure from the Alsatian canon and ordered a local beer instead of the obligatory white wine – a decision I didn't regret for a second. The combination pleasantly surprised me. The crowning glory was a kougelhopf with dried Gewürztraminer grapes – raisins secs – which lent the pastry a unique, deep sweetness and complexity. You simply can't get more traditional, authentic, or Alsatian than this. Restaurant St. Jean isn't a tourist trap that feeds on Alsatian fare—it's a place that lives and breathes Alsace. A heartfelt recommendation for anyone seeking authentic regional cuisine. And just when I thought the evening had reached its peak, the restaurant had one last surprise in store: at my express request, I was served a coffee with schnapps—a gesture as typically Alemannic as it was generous, adding warmth and character to the evening.

JUST GO HERE! The food was amazinggg! 5 starts. It is all you want: •NEW FOOD (local french cuisine),•GREAT PRICE (compared to some other touristy places and in general), •BIG PORTIONS (we could barely finish all the food) One of the rare places that left us completely satisfyed! We will remember it. It just sat the bar higher! Bravo!

A small and cozy restaurant, very tasty and high quality food. A varied menu including great desserts. Service and staff with a personal and courteous attitude. During our three days in Colmar we visited this restaurant twice. Highly recommended
