A very warm welcome with a smile. The filet mignon was excellent with its jus and mashed potatoes, as was the butcher's cut with fries and sauce. Thank you to the kitchen staff and the very energetic young waitress and her ever-helpful colleague for this wonderful experience. Just a small, lighthearted point: real butter is salted! 😁 Cheers from the Bretons!

Traditional French cuisine. Well cooked , delicious food. Service came with a bad attitude, no finesse or care for patrons. Jaded, tired decor. It was hot but owner refused to switch on air conditioning. No atmosphere or buzz of enjoyment. I felt I was an inconvenience for staff, so I ate and left. Pity, as it is a great location.

Rather mixed, let's say. We'll remain discreet about the food. As for the wines, which are more important, as everyone knows, I'm perplexed. Being in Beaune, I was expecting a wide selection of local wines. Certainly, the wine list is beautiful, very beautiful indeed, with each producer represented, but only bottles (75cl, not half-pints), the starting price, if memory serves, being €59 for a small Chablis. For two people, if one partner opts for restraint (nobody's perfect), what do you do? That leaves the wine, and here the focus narrows. The choices were two reds, two whites, and one rosé. The result: a rosé from Provence. It was hardly worth the effort, chilled but served, no doubt due to the economic crisis, with an admirable restraint. No night of revelry; we'll wait for better days, nor any foray into the great wines of Burgundy. For this time at least 🍸.

While strolling through Beaune, we wanted to avoid the crowded restaurants on the pedestrian street. We found this charming restaurant not far from the Hospices. The cuisine was far more refined than the brasseries in town for the same price. We were delighted with the food, the excellent wine list, the impeccable service, and the beautifully decorated terrace and interior. A must-try for anyone tired of frozen burgers and fries!

Lovely food but that is all. The young staff were fantastic but the old man was miserable and unwelcoming. 34oc and they didn’t even have their air conditioning turned on. Children are not catered for, they have to order an adult meal.
