Restaurant De La Haute Ville sur Boulogne-Sur-Mer

Everything you could hope for. The food was spectacular, delicate and amazing flavours, beautiful presentation. Service was attentive without being intrusive. And great wine choices, including really good half bottles if you don’t want to go overboard. Menu choices were a little over complicated with multiple fixed price menus, but they do represent good value. In the end we went à la carte as although the choices, strangely, were more limited, it included the combination we wanted (grilled crevettes for starters, sole meunière for mains). Thoroughly recommended.

A warm welcome... a very pleasant terrace. As for the menu, excellent... nothing to complain about... a must-try!

Cozy courtyard. Friendly and fast service. The meals are beautifully presented and tasty. Optimal location: in the old city center and yet just off the busiest street.

Overrated. The non-alcoholic cocktails were very basic... The seafood platter was very generously portioned but was served too cold. The prawns were tasteless. The langoustines were mediocre. The bulots contained a lot of sand. The oysters, grey shrimp, and pink shrimp were very tasty. The Sancerre wine was served chilled as requested and was good. The vegetarian menu had a tasty starter, but the main course was a tasteless, dry 'burger' without sauce. The desserts were all very sweet, which we do not like. The girl who served us at the table was very skilled and friendly. We had to wait 40 minutes for our dessert, for which she apologized. The billing was prehistoric; everything had to be written by hand on a receipt, after which it was added up using a calculator... it took forever. The garden/courtyard is a lovely place to sit. The place has a lot of potential, but the execution lacks finesse. It is a shame, but we do not recommend this.

Proper French cooking. Excellent value. The gastronomic menu is a steal.
