Given the mixed reviews, both very good and very bad, I wanted to form my own opinion. The individual Basque cherry cake was delicious and generously filled with jam. The shortbread cookies and baguette were also very good. The location is also unique and pleasant for a short stroll!

A must-visit when you're in the Basque Country. The cakes are excellent and the setting is magnificent. It's just a shame that credit cards aren't accepted and the service isn't always very friendly…

An iconic Basque cake shop! The website is lovely and the cakes are high quality. Each shop has its own recipe with varying amounts of cream: here, the cream layer is thin but sufficient, and the cake isn't dry!

The best Basque cake in the Basque Country. Much cheaper than those you'll find in local bakeries. Go without hesitation. Bring cash as they don't accept cards, but there's an ATM on site. Their shortbread cookies are absolutely exceptional!

02/08/2026: Absolutely not recommended. Having made a reservation for 7 people at 9 pm, we arrived 5 minutes late. The owner informed us that he had "sold" the table and therefore forced us to go inside, even though we had reserved a table on the terrace. The extremely unpleasant owner told us he was at home and rudely asked us to wait.
02/08/2026: Delicious fish, friendly service, small but good selection
