Restaurant du Petit Puits sur Carcassonne

While visiting Carcassonne, we stopped at this restaurant for a family meal. When it came time for dessert, I checked online reviews to see what the establishment was like. We ordered two cassoulets, onion soup, and duck breast. The first three courses were very good, and we were quite satisfied. However, I was disappointed by the duck breast, which was too small and had a rather unusual sauce. Furthermore, a portion of fries was missing; the waiter only noticed at the end of the meal. I pointed out that it wasn't a big deal since I had finished, but the woman who was watching us (perhaps the owner?) added a comment, claiming that the soup was already quite sufficient. The place is nice and quiet, but the atmosphere is less so. I agree with several other reviews: you get the feeling you're not in the way and that the staff don't seem to get along. We felt like we were bothering them by asking them to close the door, even though it was cold and we were seated right next to the entrance. It was okay for the price, but the welcome and atmosphere weren't quite up to par. A shame! Hopefully, they can improve based on the numerous positive reviews, as it would be a pity to see such a lovely establishment decline.

Having read some of the comments, I understand that everyone has the right to express their opinion. I had lunch today, October 9th, in the off-season. It was pleasant; you could actually hear yourself talk. The meal was very good. I chose the set menu for €15.90, and it was worth the price. Those who criticize this menu and the price probably think they're eating caviar, a bucket of salad, and a whole chicken cutlet! And then they drive €50,000 cars!

The place offers very reasonable service and prices; I recommend it.

The vegan cassoulet was delicious, and the hostess was always smiling and kind. Prices are always a bit high, as is the trend in the Cité, but at least it was worth it.

During a family outing in the city of Carcassonne, we decided to have lunch. So we chose to stop at this charming restaurant. The food was very good, with high-quality dishes, quick service, very pleasant and friendly staff, a lovely terrace with panoramic views, and excellent value for money. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Three of us stopped here for an impromptu evening meal. We had the 3 course deal and a bottle of wine for 96 euros. The meals were lovely and they were very accommodating letting us sit near the Aircon unit. It really was a VERY hot evening. The only downside was being mysteriously charged for a 4th person! When questioned the charge was removed. Very glad we noticed before paying.
