Magnificent menu, high quality products and iconic chef

A slightly disappointing 3* dinner, let me explain... As a preamble, I never give an opinion on this type of restaurant as the design of the menus, flavors and textures is complex and the rendering is unique to each person, but here I think it deserves that I take up my pen... Aperitif: my partner orders a fruity wine, we bring her a Jurançon closer to muscat than the chamber of love mentioned to the sommelier, we don't offer her to taste it beforehand, and no alternative offer... and this will be the case throughout the meal as part of a food and wine pairing for 250 euros... I don't find this worthy of a three-star hotel which has the most beautiful wine list in France... The meal itself: beautiful presentations, however I find that the taste of the main element announced (pigeon or crab for example) is lost in a mixture of flavors and textures that is too complex if we add to that a wine that I haven't always found suited to the food, it's a bit disappointing. In terms of the different dishes: a vegetable roll with obviously a salt error (I tasted my partner's being surprised by the way too salty taste of mine, there was clearly a cooking bug), the error is- Is it excusable in a 3* with a menu at 380 euros...? That's another debate... To end up disappointed with the last dish, the venison and the mash that accompanied it were grainy and not pleasant on the tongue. In a food and wine pairing, cheese (an institution in France) should be brought automatically... this is not the case and offered half-heartedly... ("would you like to complete your meal". .. kesako ???) The predesserts and desserts are on the other hand plentiful, for my part I am not a sweet tooth, so I would have preferred a little more extensive dishes to finish with a more subtle sweet touch, even with the help of my partner we did not have not finished the desserts which we ended up finding disgusting, but it's only a question of taste... Special mention to the baker with exceptionally good bread!

A magnificent place, with the class and refinement that honors French gastronomy. Mr. Georges Blanc, an emblematic figure with three Michelin stars, did us the honor of coming to greet us at our table. We had an unforgettable culinary experience in an enchanting setting. It’s a must-see destination!

I'm only talking about the restaurant, not the hotel. The meal is really great. Sauces, assemblies, cooking —> 5/5 On the other hand, the service is not up to par. We are at the hotel. We arrive around 8:10 p.m. It is not possible to have an aperitif except at the table. We are given a card and we quickly take our order for a glass of white wine and champagne. We are served 3 lovely appetizers…. Then nothing until 9:00 p.m. There, following my request, I was offered wine. At 9:20 p.m.…. Still nothing. No water, no bread, and someone comes to us to tell us that the wine offered is no longer available. 9:25 p.m. The first course arrives, the second at 9:50 p.m. There are 7!! The presentation is simple. Overall the dishes are not up to par. It’s not worthy of a 3 star with a menu costing €380.—!!

Georges Blanc ne faillit pas à sa réputation de Maitre triplement étoilé depuis plusieurs décennies… C’était tout simplement divin ! Ce que nous avons préféré dans ce dîner les Images de Vonnas, ce sont tout particulièrement les sauces qui accompagnent chaque plat… Le homard est absolument spectaculaire La truite est d’une remarque finesse en bouche avec sa sauce au safran pimenté. Bref, une explosion de saveurs Bravo Monsieur Blanc !

Nous étions venus déjà 2x et la troisième fut toujours aussi réussi Le menu vonnas excellent Bien composé et les sauces relèvent le tout Mr blanc qui vient vous saluer est un moment Privilège que nous avons apprécié En résumé 👍 Merci à l’ensemble de l’équipe qui fait briller cet établissement Nous avons dormi à l’auberge et là aussi Superbe chambre très grande
