Looking for a 4-day solo getaway without a car at the end of March, I found the perfect hotel: - very well located: all shops, cinema, and bus station are less than a 5-minute walk away; hiking trails start from a 10-minute walk. - half-board or full-board options available (perfect after hiking); - simple hotel and rooms (hence the attractive price) but it has everything you need; - the best part: attentive owners and a friendly, family atmosphere

If you're looking for a simple yet very clean hotel with a family atmosphere, ideally located in the heart of Villars, then don't hesitate to stay at the Hôtel du Centre! The new owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to ensure their guests are happy. All this in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. We'll gladly return.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in the center. The hosts were very welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and breakfast was also plentiful. We highly recommend this place.

Charming little hotel, comfortable and clean. A warm welcome. We spent three very pleasant days. The breakfast is very good and plentiful; we also had an excellent fondue at the "Les 3 Oursons" restaurant and some very good homemade desserts. An establishment like this is the kind we wish we saw everywhere in France!

We came to spend the weekend with our children. The managers gave us a very warm welcome; they are very attentive to their guests and always find solutions to any problems. The hotel and restaurant are nicely decorated, and while the rooms are simpler, they are perfectly adequate. The food was delicious and plentiful; we had a wonderful meal. We appreciated the location in the center of Villard-de-Lans, a very pretty and lively village. We will be back!

The dishes are delicious, expertly prepared, and made with care. The service is pleasant and the atmosphere is friendly. A wonderful discovery; I highly recommend it! The owners are lovely.

08/03/2026: What a delightful surprise this charming restaurant was, tucked away in a rather dreary cul-de-sac! The welcome is cheerful and warm, the decor a clever, slightly kitschy blend of seaside and mountain themes, and the lighting is perfectly balanced to allow you to admire what's arriving on your plate. The menu is extensive, inventive, and promising. This is confirmed when the dishes are served: everything is fresh, beautiful, flavorful, and served without delay. We enjoyed the langoustines and the confit lamb in a pastry crust, which we chose as starters (both generous portions), and then we savored the hake with sorrel and confit potatoes, as well as the fish quenelle with shellfish jus. The desserts are excellent, with a special mention for the caramelized apples and meringue, a reimagined version of the common floating island found elsewhere. Very reasonable prices again (76 euros for two, starter-main-dessert plus two half-pints of Leffe) when compared to what the other tourist trap restaurants in Villard dare to charge for over-prepared and soulless food. An original and welcoming place that makes you want to return very soon with friends! Thank you, Mr. Charentais. 😊
12/01/2026: Excellent place! Very good, homemade French cuisine, truly delicious. For me, it's clearly one of the best restaurants I've been to in Villard-de-Lans. This is my second time here and it's always just as good: flavorful, generous, and hearty dishes. The welcome is warm and friendly. I highly recommend it!
