Great location, right by the medieval city centre. Staff is helpful. Pretty good breakfast. Wouldn't mind an AC and a bigger elevator, though :-)

I went to the restaurant and not the hotel and it was very good. However, I remove the two stars for the rather excessive prices. These are not shocking prices for this type of establishment but prices which remain objectively too high for what we eat there. The two stars less for the condescension also of one of the waiters whom I cannot name because I only saw him but who seemed to be the boss. 5 minutes at our table and he managed to unleash a wave of judgment on our table.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your welcome. The room was perfect. The breakfast was plentiful and of very good quality. The location is ideal for visiting Sarlat. The only downside is the parking spaces which are very expensive.

De locatie van dit hotel is ongeëvenaard als deel van de stadsmuren van één van de mooiste dorpen van Frankrijk. De ontvangst aan de receptie was vriendelijk en correct met gepaste informatie over waar we de wagen konden parkeren, aangezien het hotel zelf niet over eigen parkeergelegenheid beschikt. Uiteraard mag je in een (mooi gerestaureerd) historisch gebouw geen moderne luxe verwachten, maar sommige zaken zoals de gammele lift waren echt wel aan verbetering toe. Onze kamer was zo ongeveer de kleinste kamer die we ooit betrokken hebben, met nauwelijks meer plaats dan voor een bed. De doorgang naar de "badkamer" aan de ene kant van het bed bestond uit een vouwdeur, omdat er te weinig ruimte was voor een draaideur om open en toe te doen. Plaats voor een leeslamp was er niet. Aan de andere kant van het bed bevonden zich 2 trappen naar beneden waar het toilet was. Daar gaf een terrasdeur uit op een heel leuk dakterras. Gelukkig zijn wij 2 kleine mensjes...

Decent meal in Sarlat, though the atmosphere was very quiet and a tad stuffy. I can't speak to what it would have been like had the weather been a bit nicer as we would have been on the patio, which looked lovely. The inside dining is very much as you would expect for a hotel restaurant - not sure how else to describe it. The food was very good. I had a salmon dish and my husband and daughters all had the chicken, which honestly was probably the best chicken any of us have ever had. It was pretty spectacular - and who says that about chicken? My fish was good, but definitely got overshadowed by... the chicken! A good solid meal, but would like to try it again on the patio as I think that would have been much nicer.
