Restaurant La Mirabelle sur Wissembourg

Good to very good food. For France, the service is exceptionally fast and friendly, making it a good choice even if you don't have several hours to spare.

We had a family meal here. A very beautiful, spacious, and welcoming place. The owner is excellent and very communicative. The dishes are well-balanced, beautifully presented, and delicious. There's a very large covered outdoor terrace, perfect for when the weather is nice. Definitely a place to remember.

The food is okay, not outstanding. The service is quite friendly. The room is suitable for large groups.

I had "tart flambée" in Wissembourg, a town on the French-German border. Similar to pizza, but with a much thinner and crispier crust, it has a cracker-like texture. Topped with a creamy sauce base and onions and bacon, the flavor is light and bland. If you're expecting more acidity and spiciness, you might find it a bit bland. The restaurant was filled with elderly locals, and it was interesting to see that most were choosing other dishes instead of the tarte flambée. Perhaps because of its proximity to Germany, Alsatian cuisine tends to lean more towards the simple, rustic side of French cuisine. Beyond the tarte flambée, the food overall wasn't particularly impressive.

A fantastic place with a direct view into the wood-fired oven. The prices are more than fair. My recommendation is Cafe Gormande.

My partner and I went to La Mirabelle, a bit by chance, after 1:30 pm on a Sunday, and we received a very warm welcome. We ordered two tarte flambées: a traditional one and one with Munster cheese, along with a side of fries, and everything was delicious. The tarte flambées are homemade, and we were served quickly and with a smile. We'll definitely go back as soon as we're in the area again! ☺️

I came with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of tarte flambée, the service, and the warm welcome. The prices are quite reasonable. I recommend it.

Everything is always freshly prepared and served quickly... very friendly service, and special requests are no problem. The atmosphere is cozy and open, but not too loud... we always enjoy coming here.

Flammkuchen in December – so of course, the autumn version with mushrooms and, to finish, with apples. We'll try the one with mirabelle plums next time.
