The interior is very pleasant, and the chalkboard menu is quite eye-catching. We tried the cassoulet, and it was wonderful. For someone who isn't used to such hearty dishes, it was exquisite. Excellent service and a great selection of local wines.

The cassoulet was so piping hot that the taste was ruined. It was overheated, as there were slight drips around the edges, and the proportions of beans to the two pieces of meat were uneven.

30/06/2026: A perfect welcome, a warm atmosphere, you feel right at home. Exceptional food and wine (birthday celebration with 20 people). A wonderful time in a peaceful setting that transports you to another era! Highly recommended.
29/06/2026: We celebrated a family member's 70th birthday at this venue, and everything was absolutely perfect! There were about thirty of us, and the organization was impeccable from start to finish. The buffet was excellent and very generous: appetizers, starters, main course, cheese, dessert, accompanied by wine, all of high quality. We had a very convivial, warm, and family-friendly time in a pleasant atmosphere. A big thank you also for the magnificent homemade cake, which was the perfect ending to this wonderful day. Thank you to the entire team for their professionalism, kindness, and organizational skills. We wholeheartedly recommend this place for celebrating an event with family or friends!

05/07/2026: We had a wonderful day with our children and grandchildren for my birthday at La Barbacanne restaurant. Thank you to the entire team: attentive and professional staff, excellent service, and a lovely terrace with a view of the castle. Congratulations to the sommelier for the perfect wine pairings with the beautifully presented dishes. Well done to the chef and the whole restaurant team!
03/07/2026: My daughter was doing a summer internship at the Hôtel de la Cité, so we wanted to spend some time as a family discovering this superb establishment and the cuisine of Chef Jérôme Ryon. What a delightful experience, thanks in particular to Thomas's excellent service and the many delicious dishes and treats we were served! We thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive lunch and vegetarian menus at €55. I highly recommend La Barbacane, a place steeped in history and charm.
