Restaurant Le Meysset sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

A few disappointments, but overall it was okay. We dined twice during our stay at Le Meysset. It was hard to discern the culinary identity of this restaurant… There's a lack of harmony in the flavors, too many combinations of ingredients and textures. It's a shame because it sometimes overpowers the main ingredient. For example, the foie gras panna cotta (which barely tasted of foie gras…). A bit disappointing compared to the various bistronomic/gastronomic restaurants we tried in the center of Sarlat. Nevertheless, the terrace is really very pleasant. It's one of the highlights of this place.

A very pleasant restaurant with exceptional cuisine. The waitresses are very friendly and smiling. We went to eat there for a wedding anniversary and it was truly the perfect place. The food was very refined and plentiful. I recommend this place without hesitation; thank you for the warm welcome and for the extraordinary dishes.

What a wonderful experience this restaurant was! The truffle menu is fabulous. A restaurant in Sarlat frequented by locals! A sign that it's not a tourist trap. Highly recommended. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it a fantastic time. We arrived as a group of 11 and everyone left delighted!

A truly wonderful experience at lunchtime at Le Meysset restaurant. The service was impeccable and attentive. The refined dishes were served on elegant and varied tableware. The food is worthy of a Michelin star, or at the very least, a Michelin-starred recommendation. I highly recommend it.

During a sweltering long weekend, there was no hot water in the room and the water pressure was practically nonexistent for rinsing my hair. Avoid room 211! Despite the known problem, no solution was offered. After two days, I asked to use another bathroom. I received no compensation.

The food was generally excellent, with a special mention for the Mother's Day menu. The service was smooth and friendly. However, we were not offered any assistance with the electric vehicle charging station (we had just purchased one and were experiencing connection issues).

We went for the tasting menu, which consisted of five courses. Each dish was beautifully presented, with a strong emphasis on aesthetics but somehow lacked in bold memorable flavors. The cuisine leans toward modern French, with some creative and slightly exotic touches. What really made the experience special, though, was the location. The restaurant is set on the hills above Sarlat, with a terrace overlooking the valley. The service, on the other hand, was a bit slow. It wasn’t unfriendly at all, just not as attentive or efficient as you might expect for this kind of dining experience.
