Restaurant Le Tertre sur Saint-Emilion

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.

The food is very delicious, with many preparations in each dish. The place is beautiful, right in the center of Saint-Emilion and tastefully decorated. The attention is also first class. However, it was not - for me - a five-star experience due to a couple of details. First of all, there is a daily menu of €48 per person, drinks apart. However, in practice, the price of the menu is much higher, since half of the dishes have a fairly high supplement. The menu varies, but in my case, for example, a dish with three units of prawns had an additional charge of €13 and a ramen with a piece of sea bass had an additional charge of €14, as did the beef. In my experience, when there is a supplement in a daily menu it is to cover the higher cost of the raw materials, because in restaurants of this category what you really pay for is the labor, the technique and the wisdom when combining ingredients (which It has the same price for sea bass and cod). Since the portions were so small, the high priced supplements didn't seem right to me. The other detail that I didn't love was that they asked you if you wanted natural or sparkling water but they didn't give us the option to order from the tap, which is free and they usually give you complimentary water in any French restaurant (here maybe it happened to us because we were foreigners). . In short, the service is great, the food is very interesting and the place is beautiful, just don't go expecting to spend what the website says because there are additional supplements everywhere. By the way, they also gave us two appetizers, courtesy of the menu, which were great.

Warm welcome and inventive cuisine… great experience

Magic for the taste buds… Invited for a remote occasion, we have no view of the map and we let ourselves be carried away blindly. Everything was a treat, a discovery with every bite. A combination of flavor and mastered seasoning that makes you forget preconceived ideas. Congratulations to Julien Elles and Catherine for her simplicity and humility, as well as to the entire team serving their subtle know-how.

Amazing Asian fusion cuisine and good wine selection in a very quaint atmosphere. The combination of flavors, the food pairings and the presentation were perfect. In my view, Michelin Star worthy. I’m glad we decided to go. The three course meal is between $48 and $65 per person, excluding the wine.

Passing through Saint Emilion, we had reserved a table for 6 people. What can I say other than that we had a unique time, both in terms of the dishes we were able to taste and the welcome we received. a superb experience, if you pass through Saint Emilion this is the place where you must stop!
