Excellent service from Diane as usual! Pleasant and helpful, it's always a great experience, both on the plate and in a restaurant!

A small, unpretentious restaurant, but excellent! Friendly atmosphere, kind and smiling service, very high-quality meat (the pork pluma is simply divine!! A real treat). The coquillettes with chorizo ​​are super delicious! A restaurant just the way we like them!

An excellent place! We shared a pâté as a starter, and it was delicious. Then we had the cordon bleu with coppa and smoked scamorza cheese, served with fries and mashed potatoes: a real treat, everything was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. A big thumbs up for the staff, absolutely perfect: warm, smiling, attentive, and very welcoming. We will definitely be back!

The regular menu is already an experience, but the daily specials reveal even more culinary possibilities. The service was extremely attentive and incredibly friendly. The food was excellent, with fantastic combinations. A must-visit in Metz! 🇫🇷

Since the hotel restaurant was fully booked, we spontaneously looked for a place with French cuisine – and found Les Copains d’Abord. Despite our initial fears of not getting a table, we were fortunate enough to get two seats in the packed restaurant. We sat right by the open window, yet it was still very warm inside. However, the food more than made up for the heat. I ordered the lamb stew, which, according to the menu, has been a bestseller for years – and indeed, the dish was divine. No wonder it's one of the restaurant's classics. The staff was also exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Metz – a spontaneous discovery, superb cuisine, and an authentic atmosphere.

**A Second Visit, Unfortunately Less Convincing** We came for the second time, and while the food was still just as good, we were much less impressed with the service this time. On our first visit, we were served by a truly wonderful gentleman, very pleasant and friendly. This time, we felt a rather tense and unwelcoming atmosphere among the waitresses. We had, however, perfectly respected our 7:00 PM reservation and were aware that we had to vacate the table by 9:15 PM at the latest. We were therefore quite surprised when, at 8:58 PM, the waitress informed us that "we had to vacate the table by 9:15 PM, so for dessert..." as if we hadn't already mentioned our dessert choices, as if it were no longer possible! We completely understand the constraints of the second seating, but we hadn't lingered at the table: we waited for the appetizer, then the main courses, and then for our dessert order to be taken. Another rather surprising situation: a couple of friends wanted to order three courses. The waitress seemed hesitant and tried to dissuade them, pointing out that "the portions are generous." This made them quite uncomfortable. They ultimately decided to keep their order after she left, even before the appetizer was served, but the waitress didn't seem very pleased. As if she were the one who would have to eat it. It's a shame, because the food is really good, and we had such fond memories of our first visit. We might come back for the main courses, but we hope to experience the same warm welcome we felt the first time on our next visit.

Two meals at two different times and never disappointed! A very enjoyable experience with a lovely menu, delicious desserts, and impeccable service.

I accidentally booked for the wrong day, but the staff were very friendly and still made an effort to find us a table. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

This is a very casual place, where the menu is written on a chalkboard. It is perfectly good food at a reasonable price, but nothing out of the ordinary. Atmosphere also quite casual. Do not think you are going to a place with a tasting menu or wine pairing. It’s not that type of place. That said, service was friendly and our meals were good.
