Royal Lounge sur Pau

A restaurant that has lost its luster. The local evening menu is still quite expensive considering what you're served and how it's served. The menu is a downgraded, second-rate offering… very disappointing for regulars… no petits fours, you pour your own wine, the new head waiter is arrogant… too much pretension in the unreduced price.

We had a relaxing stay at the Parc Beaumont Hotel & Spa in Pau, on our way from Bordeaux to the Atlantic Coast. The hotel was very nice, and the food and service were excellent. There is a beautiful park adjacent to the hotel, which even has swan families! The indoor pool was refreshing as well. It is a relatively short drive to the Pyrenees Mountains, which were magnificent (albeit a somewhat harrowing drive!). We hope to visit again.

We had a wonderful family weekend (with my mother and sister) at the Hotel Beaumont, and the overall experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was impeccable: warm, professional, attentive, with a genuine feeling of being pampered. We had booked a family suite consisting of a separate bedroom and a living room that could also be closed off as a second bedroom. The layout is extremely well thought out (with the option to separate it from the hallway, bathroom, and toilet), and above all, the soundproofing is remarkable: both between the spaces and from outside noise. A true haven. The decor also contributes greatly to the ambiance: cozy, understated, and elegant. And a special mention: the bedding is extremely comfortable; we slept incredibly well. We were absolutely delighted with the evening service: the room was prepared for the night (decorative cushions removed and neatly arranged, bed slightly open, curtains drawn) with the added bonus of small chocolates placed near the pillows. A lovely touch, worthy of a high-end establishment. We had opted for the spa and massage package, and we were lucky enough to have the spa (pool, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna) to ourselves. Towels and bottled water were available for self-service: another simple but very much appreciated touch. For our massages, we were treated by Clémence and Caroline. A special mention goes to Clémence: her service exceeded all my expectations. I regularly visit this type of establishment, and I have honestly never encountered such an excellent, precise, and professional therapist. Thank you for this wonderful experience. The only slight drawback of our stay was that during a drink at the hotel brasserie, the service (provided by Arthur) wasn't up to the standard of the hotel. There was a wait upon arrival, even though there were few people, the service was rather abrupt, there were a few oversights, and little explanation was given. We shared our feelings openly, as this really contrasted with the rest of the experience. Finally, the breakfast was amazing: exceptional pastries, lots of homemade items, a real selection, and a perfect welcome (professional and friendly). A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend so memorable. We will gladly return.

A very pleasant stay. The pleasant surprise was the hotel's brasserie; the fish we were served was perfectly pearly white, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. The spa area wasn't particularly impressive; the pool was nice, but the jacuzzi was barely warm, which was a shame.

Everything, absolutely everything, was perfect! The smiles and kindness were constant. The brasserie is very good and the breakfast buffet delicious. The room was pleasant and very clean. I can't wait to come back and see you. Thank you all.

Very good. The architecture and rooms are unremarkable, but everything is functional. Good restaurant. The spa is pleasant.

Superb hotel, both inside and out. Pleasant and attentive staff. Very nice rooms, great breakfast. Excellent service, a true 5 stars. The only major drawback is the adjoining establishments: the bar/restaurant and the gourmet restaurant. Two bad experiences that make me deduct a star from my overall rating. I don't know if I'll return because of this.

I loved my experience at the spa twice, first for a 1-hour solo massage and then for a couples massage. The place is pleasant and very beautiful.
