We received a warm welcome; the waitress found us a table on the terrace even though we hadn't made a reservation. The mussels (800g) were a real treat, served with homemade fries. The homemade desserts were lovely.

I'm not going to be objective, not at all! 😋😋😋😋😋 It's simply the best vanilla ice cream I know, THE VANILLA DELIGHT (also available in chocolate or coffee flavors). Huge chunks of chocolate and nougatine, all in vanilla ice cream—pure bliss. Anyway, every time we're in St. Malo, it's a must-try for us, summer or winter. Go ahead, try it, and tell me what you think.

I highly recommend this place. We had a wonderful meal (pasta carbonara, grilled pork, and savory buckwheat crepe—everything was delicious). The food was high quality, the service was quick, and the staff very pleasant. The cakes are excellent. We had the strawberry cake and the raspberry macaron—a real treat! Two slices for the four of us were more than enough, especially the strawberry cake, which was a huge slice. We even left with the leftovers!

The very high prices don't match the service and ambiance, only the fact that you're in the center/fortress of St. Malo. The music was uninspiring, empty bottles weren't cleared away, no fresh napkin was offered for dessert, and although I have a sweet tooth, the lemon tart was barely edible (too sweet).

Big thanks to the friendly waiter who took our order, however, the friendliness of some staff needs improvement! Admittedly, we were late, but we had notified them beforehand and apologized!

20/07/2026: Went for dinner with my husband and ordered the small tasting menu, expecting a true Michelin-level experience. Service was genuinely good, attentive and professional throughout. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match. There was no welcoming amuse-bouche to start, which felt like an odd omission for a starred restaurant, and portions left us still hungry after the full tasting menu, which was a first for us at this level of dining. The food itself felt more like what you’d get at a solid neighborhood restaurant rather than Michelin-caliber cooking or presentation. We visited several other Michelin-starred and Michelin-recommended restaurants on this trip, and honestly found better food and better value elsewhere. Service was the one strong point, but disappointing overall given the reputation and price.
11/07/2026: This is our third visit to this establishment, and each time we are delighted. The welcome is very pleasant, the place tastefully decorated. The quality, seasonal produce is skillfully prepared by the chef and his team, much to our delight. We had a wonderful time. 😊

Restaurant la Verrière

28/05/2026: Everything was excellent! The setting, the staff (from the youngest to the most experienced), the table setting, and the food itself! I was lucky enough to have full board for four days and thoroughly enjoyed every single meal!
28/04/2026: Wonderful moments at La Verrière restaurant during a stay at the Saint-Malo Thalassotherapy Center. Thank you to the chef for the vegetarian dishes! Bravo to the pastry chef for the exquisite desserts!
