A great find in this neighborhood full of amazing places to eat! The limited menu speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity of the ingredients and dishes. Parking is difficult in the area, though. Public transportation is best.

A wonderful discovery of traditional Japanese cuisine! A warm welcome from a very professional and pleasant staff. I highly recommend trying the tuna dish and, as a starter, the meltingly tender and lightly smoked eggplant. The setting is calm and understated, and the prices are quite reasonable!

We had a delicious dinner with very good service by the young man. Our server was not Japanese but we saw many in the kitchen who were. There were also Japanese customers. We think that is a very good sign. We were brought a jug of water without asking and it was not cold so we were happy. We also ordered Japanese tea and we were brought two cups and it was good. There is no menu online so we were surprised and delighted to see chawan mushi on the menu as a starter. We immediately ordered two and they were very good—the right color and consistency with good ingredients. For our next course we had the sashimi. It had tuna, clam and “sweet” shrimp, all very good, with lots of daikon on the side and one of Audre’s favorite sesame leaves. The next course we ordered was the tempura udon. The tempura was served separately which is very smart—it did not get mushy in the soup. It was crunchy with a good assortment of vegetables with one shrimp. We couldn’t finish it and so we took the rest of the udon soup home. For our main course we ordered the mackerel on a bed of rice. It was delicious but we were very full so we took two fillets home! For dessert we had the mange blanc and it was very good too. The sesame taste was great. We spent 89€ and we were very happy.

An interesting and affordable option. The waiter knew the menu well but lacked experience. Regarding my dish, I was a little disappointed by the undercooked salmon – it was a failure. I would have appreciated more salmon roe.

Everything was perfect. We had a peaceful dinner and were served by a lovely young woman who was very knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent meal. Looking forward to returning.

Sophisticated dishes but quite expensive, good taste.

Good lunch, quick and efficient, pleasant atmosphere, interesting conversation with the staff. I recommend it.

This restaurant hasn't oversold its authenticity—a label the chef likely chose to snub the pale Chinese imitations. The food is typically Japanese, a one-way ticket without the 15-hour flight to an izakaya that would have tripled its prices after converting from yen. Frankly, it's a bargain for a slice of Japan served directly on your plate. The sake menu, with its enticing kanji, is perfect for forgetting the melancholy of being so far from the bowing deer and the welcoming irashaimase that greet you as you push open the door of Osaka's pubs.
