Wine Pier sur Villefranche-Sur-Mer

We spent a month in Villefranche this summer and were frequent guests of the wine bar at the Welcome Hotel, although we did not stay at the hotel. There is no better place in Villefranche to stop by for a glass of wine or a cocktail before dinner or anytime with beautiful views of the harbor and the waterfront. Good wines were available by the glass or bottle and they serve a killer gin and tonic with Monkey 47 gin in a large bowl glass at a reasonable price. We can’t wait to get back there!

Nice lil wine bar inside of a hotel. Staff were lovely and attentive, and was nice to look out onto the sea / harbour.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Wine Pier in Villefranche-sur-Mer twice during my stay, and both experiences were absolutely delightful. The location is simply unbeatable—right at the harbor, making it the perfect spot to enjoy the early evenings. There's something magical about sipping wine while taking in the serene views of the water. The waiters were friendly, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. On both visits, I spent around two hours there, and I never felt rushed. It was the perfect way to unwind before dinner. Besides a tasty rose wine, I requested a Sauvignon Blanc, and it was incredibly delicious—a real treat for the taste buds. At around €11 per glass, it's a bit pricier than usual, but the quality of the wine and the stunning location make it well worth it. I highly recommend The Wine Pier for anyone looking for a charming aperitif spot before dinner. It’s an experience not to be missed when in Villefranche-sur-Mer!

We had a couple of draught beers with bread stick, chips humus and a very (what appeared to be home made) tatziki. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We are going back for coffee tomorrow morning. Very nice place.

Just perfect in the morning to drink a coffee in the sun and watch the hustle and bustle at the port. Extraordinarily friendly service. I like!

Great service, reasonable prices, WiFi and bathroom

We strongly recommend this place for any true wine appreciator. We asked for a natural non-filtered wine and the sommelier, who was wonderful, understood immediately what we wanted and brought us an amazing wine. One of the few sommeliers that really understands natural and biodynamic wine, we usually get this type of experience only in dedicated natural wine bars, so this was a great positive surprise. Apart from this, the cheese board was delicious with some very special cheeses. The atmosphere is also very good, with a few tables outside overlooking the sea. We’ll come back there every time we’ll be at Villefranche-sur-Mer.
