Great restaurant with, as usual, a very good atmosphere. The best flamkusche in the area. Excellent food. The owner is very friendly and efficient. It's a pleasure every time.

We had a wonderful time at Winstub du Manoir. For our meal, we opted for a "half-and-half" flammekueche, which is a brilliant idea for trying several flavors in one meal! Everything was delicious. The welcome was particularly warm and the service was very quick. We highly recommend going; you won't be disappointed!

We had the best meal of our trip so far tonight here at Winstub de Manoir. And, impressively, the restaurant seems to be a two person operation: one woman tending the tables, and another person in the kitchen. Rewinding, we’re American tourists with a twenty word French vocabulary. We’d passed the restaurant on our walks through town and photographed the menu in the window. (Our AirBNB host had earlier touted the restaurant as a good dining option.) Using Google Translate, we composed and sent an email, in French, at 3:00 pm on Monday, asking for a 7:00 pm reservation for 2 that evening. Within the hour we heard back “C’est possible.” We were at the door when it opened and were the first table seated. Through our fumbling French greeting the server recognized us as Americans, and offered us English language menus and wine list. We had studied the window menu in advance (thanks Google Translate) and knew what we wanted – the mushroom and munster cheese tarte flambe for me, and the gourmet salad for my wife, so when the server dropped our menus we opened only the wine list. We are interested in local wine and cuisine, so we skipped the familiar wines that we can find at supermarkets back home and instead ordered glasses of Sylvaner and Pinot Blanc, together with our main courses. The server recommended adding bacon to my mushroom and cheese tarte, to which I readily agreed. (Having read the online reviews, I knew the kitchen would make a half tarte flambe if it is for a single diner, since a full tarte is usually overwhelming.) Our wines came quickly, as did still water. And our meals followed promptly. Both excellent. We didn’t know quite to expect about the gourmet salad, but found it to be a platter of greens with some herbs in a light vinaigrette topped with bits of various proteins – everything from foie gras and mortadella, to bresaola, sausage and cured salmon. (Mortadella and bresaola are my shorthand descriptions; I presume the items are actually Alsatian charcuterie.) Midway through the meal, seeing our wine glasses empty, the server asked if we wanted anything else. I asked for a glass of a third wine I didn’t know: Klevener. It, too, came promptly. When our main courses were finished, the server returned and asked if we were interested in dessert or coffee. Again, we had studied the menu in advance and knew our selections: tarte de maison for me, and lemon sorbet with Cremante for my wife. The server was pleased to tell us that the tarte de maison is currently rhubarb and is very good. These, too, were excellent picks. The tarte de maison turned out to be a rhubarb egg custard topped with baked meringue on a pastry crust. The total bill for our evening was 50 Euros. We enjoyed the meal twice as much as one we’d paid twice as much for yesterday. The server really does a Herculean job, as she expertly manages orders for about a dozen tables single-handedly. She is at least tri-lingual – coping fine with us in English, and also clearly fluent in dealing with the many German guests. We treated her with respect by making efficient use of her time, and she treated us with respect in return. On thanking her for the good meal, she replied with words to the effect, “I hope you’ll make this your home.” It would be a pleasure. However, the calendar marches on and we soon travel onward to Paris. C'est la vie.,, Bon appetite!

A lovingly run, authentic, family-run restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere, exceptionally friendly service, and delicious food (at fair prices). Highly recommended!
