26/09/2026: Lunch for two… The meat was excellent quality. The service was a bit slow despite the restaurant being quiet. With the sweetbreads, I would have preferred a thicker jus rather than this one, which was a bit too thin for my taste. Finally, and at this price, it's a major disappointment 😡 the salad wasn't rinsed properly: it was crunchy 🦷 Very unpleasant.

20/09/2026: I ate at El Nacional restaurant with three friends. We were disappointed with the overall experience. Not the food, though; it met our expectations. We arrived at 8:30 pm, didn't order any appetizers, just glasses of wine, but our main courses weren't served until 10 pm. Admittedly, one of us ordered a perfectly cooked pork chop, but in my opinion, that doesn't justify a 1.5-hour wait. The service was slow, that's a fact, but you can never rule out a temporary organizational issue. Even though nothing was mentioned to us about it, and we didn't receive a single word from the servers before our food arrived. The real problem arose when the bill arrived. Two of us hadn't ordered dessert and had left early (due to the long wait). We paid for our meals, but the glasses of wine weren't on the bill. We pointed this out, and the cashier told us, "The server must not have added them," to apologize for the wait. Great, a very appreciated gesture. Later that evening, I learned from people who stayed for dessert that the glasses of wine had been added to the bill afterward. Unaware of our conversation with the cashier, my friend paid for her glass of wine and pointed out that the two glasses of wine still on the bill weren't the same ones she had. The cashier "forgave" them the two extra glasses. My friend didn't say anything, so she charged for all three glasses. What shocks me most isn't so much the wait, even though an hour and a half for grilled meat and fries raises a serious organizational issue. What shocks me is the dishonesty. They pretended to offer us a discount, added the glasses of wine to the bill afterward, and made our friends pay for them. You either offer a discount or you don't. In what world do you think we won't talk about this amongst ourselves and that it won't get out? Anyway, I didn't intend to let the wait ruin my experience, but after this incident, we won't be going back.

07/10/2026: Wednesday, October 7th. We arrived late after a trip to a B&B near the restaurant. Unfortunately, all the restaurants, even nearby, were closed. We asked if they could kindly open a bottle of wine we'd bought that afternoon for us to enjoy. They very kindly opened it for us and also gave us a free plate of food, including a delicious cheese. These gestures make life more enjoyable and make us love France more than any tourist office. Thank you again. We'll remember you.

28/09/2026: Last night, we arrived without reservations, but despite that, the waiter found us a very nice table on the terrace. For two hours, we treated ourselves to an assortment of savory tapas, our favorite dish being the cod-stuffed piquillos. For dessert, the profiteroles were sublime. Thank you to the whole team at Le Chipiron for an unforgettable evening.

28/09/2026: A restaurant not to be missed, both for the warm welcome and the quality of the food. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked calamari and sardines. A delight!

19/09/2026: Tapas! More tapas, and we wanted more! A lovely variety of hot and cold tapas. And to quench your thirst, of course, a refreshing sangria. A great place where I had a wonderful time. Plus, the staff were attentive and friendly.

27/09/2026: If you want to taste the best tapas in Bordeaux, come here! The best potatoes with a divine sauce and Camembert and piquillo peppers... mmm! So go on Sunday morning; there's a flea market right at the foot of St. Michel Church, and the tram is nearby.

01/09/2026: Amazing service! Tatiana gave us great recommendations on the dishes to choose from. The steak was delicious and the chicken with peanuts was heavenly. Super reasonable prices. A €18 set menu is hard to find in Bordeaux.
