07/06/2026: We had a very good meal and a lovely time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the terrace is particularly pleasant.
The wait was a little long, but a waiter came to let us know in advance and apologized, which I really appreciated. I had also requested a small gift for my mother's birthday, and my request was taken into account, which we were very happy about.
However, one thing bothered me. I overheard the manager (or owner) correcting an employee about their service. It's perfectly normal to train and support staff, but making this kind of remark in front of customers seemed unprofessional and probably uncomfortable for the employee in question.
Apart from that, our experience was positive! Thank you!

Hotel Restaurant La Truite

01/07/2026: On holiday in Divonne for a few days, we booked a table for that same evening. The person on the phone was very friendly.
Once we arrived, the person who greeted us couldn't find our reservation (which was less than an hour old) because she was looking at the wrong day of the week… luckily, the reservation was correct.
Then we had to be shown to our table. Apparently, people who arrived after us were seated before us.
Then came the meal. I had ordered a starter that contained parmesan cheese, which I'm still looking for. For a €15 starter, eating eggs in a cream sauce… On the other hand, my partner had foie gras, which was very good. The side dishes weren't listed on the menu. Furthermore, the roast potatoes were reheated from the day before, and there were some unidentifiable vegetables that I didn't eat.
The service was very rushed, but the waiters were very polite.
Then came dessert; we had ordered a tarte tatin. It's a shame we didn't read the packaging correctly, because it said to heat it in the oven, not the microwave; otherwise, it stays cold. I do a better job at home.
Luckily, we're not staying in a hotel.
25/06/2026: Avoid this restaurant. You can easily find better for less money.
The service was riddled with mistakes and completely unprofessional (the waiter shouted and ran around, asking if everything was alright while yelling in your ear). He was the only one actually working, as the other two waiters were so inefficient it was laughable.
The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either: a piece of aluminum foil (butter) on the fish fillet, undercooked fries, undercooked foie gras (I've never seen such thin slices), and overall quite bland (a sentiment shared by the four of us at the table).
In short, it's not my style to leave bad Google reviews, but I had a terrible evening at this restaurant. When I got home, I checked the bill and saw that we were charged extra for rice on top of the ridiculously small portion served with the main course. When I say ridiculous, I mean it's just two or three forkfuls of rice, and it's surely a ploy to charge you another tiny portion for €4.60, which won't even last until the end of your meal.
That was the last straw.

28/06/2026: Excellent food and a beautiful setting on the outdoor terrace.
Unfortunately, the service during our visit was disappointing. They couldn't give me the wines on offer, only "white, rosé, red," yet I was charged for the most expensive one. There was a price list on a display stand next to the till, but they never brought it to me.
For dessert, I ordered a caramel panna cotta, and to my surprise, I was brought a red fruit coulis. The person supposedly didn't have paper and a pen to write down my order and just took what was ready in the kitchen. I don't regret insisting on my order, though, because the caramel was delicious!

01/03/2026: Came to Brunch. Exceeded my expectation.
27/12/2025: We dined at La Divonne – Le Président restaurant for a family Christmas dinner (12 people). Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
We arrived on time, yet we waited nearly 40 minutes for our drinks and an hour and 45 minutes for our starters. The service was very slow and disorganized: the waiter forgot several orders, and some requests were either ignored or poorly executed.
What compounded our disappointment was seeing customers who arrived after us served before us, even for dishes identical to ours.
The food was adequate, but nothing special. Furthermore, we were disappointed by the limited choice of starters (no simple options like a salad) and the lack of a children's menu, which is surprising for a restaurant catering to families.
Overall, this experience fell far short of our expectations for a festive meal. This will unfortunately be our first and last reservation at this establishment.

01/01/2025: Notre visite dans ce restaurant a été une véritable désillusion. Dès le départ, l'accueil téléphonique a manqué de professionnalisme, et cette première impression s'est confirmée à notre arrivée : le personnel semblait peu, voire pas du tout formé.
Le premier faux pas a été le vin blanc servi en apéritif. À 13 euros le verre, on pourrait s'attendre à un minimum de qualité. Malheureusement, il était tiède et n'avait rien d'exceptionnel, ce qui est inadmissible à ce tarif.
Nous comprenons que le dimanche soir puisse être un moment plus calme pour les restaurants, mais apprendre que trois plats étaient indisponibles sur une carte déjà restreinte a considérablement réduit nos options. Nous avons finalement choisi la souris d’agneau, mais quelle déception ! Le plat semblait clairement réchauffé au micro-ondes, la sauce, visiblement issue d’un fond industriel, était lourde et visqueuse. Le résultat : nous n’avons presque pas touché à nos assiettes.
L’ambiance n’a rien arrangé. Une musique électro trop présente rendait les échanges difficiles, obligeant à parler fort pour se faire entendre.
En résumé, cette expérience a été un enchaînement de déconvenues : un service approximatif, une cuisine médiocre et une ambiance désagréable. Nous déconseillons fortement ce restaurant.
23/11/2024: Très bon et copieux !
Nous avons pris une entrecôte et une ballotine de filet mignon à la châtaigne, miel et moutarde. Je recommande fortement !
En dessert des profiteroles et une île flottante avec son caramel maison.
Le menu d'automne a l'air vraiment très bon ! Nous reviendrons !

Ne perdez pas votre temp ni votre argent là bas.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécie ce moment dans un cadre ravissant et sympathique. Choix de petits plats généreux à partager avec un apero, dans une atmosphère chaleureuse !
14/04/2024: Vraiment dommage , on aurait mis 4 ou 5 car nous adorions l endroit et les propriétaires que nous connaissons depuis de nombreuses années. Mais depuis plusieurs mois l accueil et le service client est déplorable. On nous parle mal , il n y a plus de respect du client. Certains doivent se poser les bonnes questions et changer de métier. À bon entendeur, salut avec regret.
