05/02/2026: Visited today (Tuesday, February 3, 2026). I ordered a coffee (€2.50) and crepes (€4) displayed on the counter. The total should have been €6.50, but I was charged €9.50, an extra €3 for no good reason! A woman (probably the manager) intervened very aggressively to justify this surcharge with "eat-in" prices that weren't displayed. They also added decorations and two fresh raspberries without my asking, then charged me for them as extras without informing me beforehand. The situation was completely absurd: she was forcing me to pay by card, completely ignoring the fact that I was already paying the full amount in cash (the displayed price of €6.50). This was unacceptable pressure in front of the other customers. I finally left my €7 (which already covered more than the initial price) just to be able to leave this toxic place. To top it all off, she told the waiter he'd have to pay the difference out of his own pocket! Furthermore, the lack of clear labeling on the pastries allows for arbitrary pricing: I was quoted €7 for an apple puff pastry and the same price for a chocolate cake. This is an establishment to absolutely avoid. P.S. The owner's response is a complete fabrication and demonstrates blatant bad faith. The waiter clearly told me that the portion of two crepes cost €4 without mentioning that it was a "snack." Trying to charge an extra €3 (that's 46% more than the price) for mandatory whipped cream and the use of cutlery is an abusive practice. As for the "takeaway" price, I left €7 for a €6.50 order: I therefore paid MORE than the normal price. The owner's conclusion, "please move along," confirms a total disregard for customers.

24/03/2026: Delighted! I discovered this restaurant thanks to Rémi Ragnar's stories. It's very beautiful and very good. I had steak tartare, fries, and salad served in their lovely garden. Delighted.

13/04/2026: The 4.3 stars checks out … if you’re rating a sauna. I arrived 1-hour before closing and confirmed several tables still occupied with full glasses of wine, and made the radical request to sit outside with one. Noted that all I wanted was a drink. The maître d’ received this news as one might receive a subpoena. I was dispatched to the patio to wait, which I did, heroically, until it became clear no one was coming. I then seated myself and spent the next ten minutes being studiously ignored. Solid ambiance. Would not recommend the service, unless you enjoy the particular peace of being completely forgotten about.

18/02/2026: "The temple of the casserole dish (and the nightmare of the indecisive)" The atmosphere: This is pure Old Nice. It's a far cry from the selfie bars of Cours Saleya. Here, it's friendly, it's cozy, and you're welcomed with a blend of warmth and energy that makes it clear you're not here to be trifled with. The decor is rustic, the tables are close together, and if you don't like sharing the smell of your neighbor's beef bourguignon, go eat a sandwich on the beach. The concept: Everything is served in small cast-iron casserole dishes. It's cute, it's Instagrammable (even if that's not the point), and above all, it keeps food warmer than a radiator in the middle of January. The menu is short—which is always a good sign, unless you were hoping to choose from 50 mass-produced pizzas. Here, they respect the ingredients and let them simmer. The Food: It's pure comfort food. The kind of food that makes you forget you paid €15 for parking to come to the Old Town. The Niçoise daube is more tender than your grandmother's heart, and the side dishes are anything but superficial. It's generous, it's flavorful, and it's seriously saucy. Warning: If you're looking for "deconstructed tofu with air foam," you've come to the wrong place. Here, we eat, we don't do molecular poetry. The Service: Quick, efficient, and with that little touch of Niçoise charm. They don't bow and scrape, but they make sure your casserole is full and your glass of rosé isn't empty. It's authentic, unfiltered. The Little Tick: The restaurant is a victim of its own success: without a reservation, you have about as much chance of getting a table as you do of seeing a penguin on the Promenade des Anglais in August. The space is… let's say "optimized." If you're claustrophobic or the size of a basketball player, be prepared to squeeze in (like a towel). The prices? Very reasonable for the quality, which is practically a genetic anomaly in this neighborhood. In short: The pros: Authentic cuisine, a price-quality ratio that won't break the bank, and a refreshing change from the usual steak and fries. The cons: The noise (it's lively, after all!), the difficulty getting a table, and the obligatory nap after the meal. Friendly advice: Book three days in advance (or two years, depending on the season), come with a ravenous appetite, and prepare for your only regret to be not having a second stomach to finish off your neighbor's pot.

19/04/2026: Very good restaurant. Decent portion size. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, we were served in fifteen minutes, which was great as we were pressed for time. The waiter was very kind and pleasant (probably the owner).

19/04/2026: The food was okay. The service was terrible. They don't know how to run a place. They overcharge you and blame you; it happened to us two days in a row. Open a chicken rotisserie, man!
