Star Kebab

19/02/2026: Excellent! The staff is lovely, the Berliner kebab is absolutely delicious, the fries are good, and the price is more than reasonable. The portions are generous, and the place is heated.
I would come back to Rochefort just for this kebab!

17/12/2025: It's worth remembering that wearing black food-grade gloves (I hope, not mechanic's gloves) doesn't excuse you from basic hygiene practices: when you wear gloves to handle food with your bare hands, don't then touch all your furniture (shelves, sauce containers, payment terminals, food storage, order notes or notebooks, etc.) only to handle food again when preparing your order. I'm not a fan of dust and other unpleasant smells during my meals.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone in a hurry; its only advantage is its location.
Advice to the restaurant owner: not handling the ECO+ bag of fries in front of the customer looks bad. Using a stainless steel container for transferring them to the fryer won't give me the impression that you're making a bad profit on the menu.

The staff were very friendly, and the service was impeccable. I recommend it.

26/10/2025: We were looking for a place to have lunch as a family with a 9-month-old baby. It was still early, 11:00 a.m., and after many rejections, this charming couple welcomed us.
Delicious, generous homemade food; we thoroughly enjoyed it.

23/09/2024: Lots of fried food and what isn't fried lacks finesse. High prices for what they offer. Our bread was completely dried out and the water tasted very much like chlorine. With a starter and some wine you can easily spend 50 to 60 euros per person. I think the oysters we ate had been open for a long time. I was sick from it during the night. Fish was fried too hard, risotto was not creamy but dried out. The fries were tasty but extremely oily. Alioli was very tasty.
The waiters were friendly and quick in service. But all in all, I don't really understand the rave reviews.
Fewer dishes on the menu and more attention to cooking and finishing would probably improve things.

La cuisine du restaurant est tout à fait ordinaire à co-notation asiatique/vegan : tomates mozza, taboule, nouilles légumes poulet,
Le prix des boissons est excessif.
27/05/2024: Nous voulions juste boire un verre, on nous donne une carte de boissons, on a attendu attendu, on est parti. Nous sommes restaurateurs sur oleron : les prix pratiqués dans cet établissement sont exorbitants ! Avec 1 table de 2 dans la salle, à 3 ils n'étaient pas débordés ! Lamentable!!!

And the salted butter caramel cream, a real Proust madeleine! The decor contributes to the warm atmosphere, don't hesitate to open the door

11/09/2024: We went to La Belle Poule with a group of 20 people in a professional setting. We had reserved rooms but also all our evening meals.
The setting is very pleasant, the restaurant and the terrace are real pluses for this establishment.
And the staff is extremely attentive and friendly, both before our visit and on site.
07/09/2024: Very pleasant stay in a green setting, comfortable and well-equipped room, appreciable PRM accessibility, good bedding, friendly, attentive and helpful staff. The restaurant is like the rest, with fresh and hearty dishes.

19/08/2024: During our bike stopover in Rochefort after noon, we started looking for a restaurant. The owner of this restaurant, despite the high attendance, reserved a table for us and kindly offered us to come back less than half an hour later. Despite the end of service at noon, we were very well received. The dishes served were very good and very good value for money.
