06/05/2026: Our experience was very mixed.
Positive:
- Comfortable bedding and a lovely view
- The staff was very pleasant
- The wine was very good (perfectly paired)
- The view was beautiful, especially at sunset
- Very quiet
Negative:
- For a seven-course dinner, we expected fresh bread, but it was dry.
- The service was very slow; two and a half hours to eat is far too slow, especially since it wasn't really seven courses. The amuse-bouches aren't supposed to count as a course (we're used to Michelin-starred restaurants), and the rest of the meal should have been served quickly.
- The room was shabby: peeling paint, noisy shower (when all they needed was a new faucet), and a bandage was used to repair the hairdryer...
- There was a room with lots of board games, which was great! Except that the games are incomplete; we tested about ten of them, and there's always something missing...
05/05/2026: A haven of serenity (and delicious food) overlooking the mountains!
An absolutely perfect stay at this aptly named establishment. From the moment you arrive, you're struck by the tranquility and the breathtaking view of the valley, but it's the welcome that truly makes the difference: warm, professional, and genuine.
Spa: A pure moment of relaxation. The facilities are impeccable, and the view from the relaxation areas is simply magical. It's the ideal remedy after a day on the trails (or slopes!). I'll just mention the absence of a jacuzzi. There's a hammam, sauna, massage shower, and hanging chairs with a tea area. But no jacuzzi.
Dining: Special mention for the restaurant! You can feel the genuine attention to local products, which are enhanced with finesse. It's top-notch, both for the palate and the service.
The hotel's eco-responsible commitment (the first bioclimatic hotel in the region, if I'm not mistaken!) allows you to enjoy luxury guilt-free.
In short, whether it's the attentive staff or the quality of the services, La Croix de Savoie is a rare find in Les Carroz. You come for the view, you stay for the experience. Thank you for this timeless moment!

14/08/2026: Not great at all! The service was chaotic; after 10 minutes, they told us we'd finished our meals and that when we asked for dessert, they were out. In short, not the best restaurant downstairs. One dish forgotten, and the smiles are definitely gone!
The only good thing about it is that it's not too expensive. The ingredients are good, but nothing exceptional. So, if that's all you're after, go for it; otherwise, look elsewhere.
12/08/2026: We arrived at 12:30 PM, a table for six, maybe eight to ten people already seated. It was so slow that we finally decided to leave at 2:15 PM, our plates still not cleared. The cook was left alone at 2:00 PM, the two servers having left. The table next to us seemed to be a group of friends and was well looked after. The food was okay and the servers were friendly, but apparently inefficient. Coffee at home and ice cream from Sherpa finished our meal. It's a shame to see potential and revenue going to waste due to a lack of motivated staff.

18/08/2024: Soirée de fin de vacances en famille, nous nous attentions à passer un bon moment et ce fut tout le contraire!
Un serveur détestable tant dans sa façon de servir que dans sa façon de s’adresser à nous.
Et des plats vraiment médiocres, notamment la raclette et sa charcuterie industrielle!
Bref, allez plutôt dans le resto « chez Daniel » juste en face!
11/08/2024: Un serveur insupportable qui parle mal aux clients et à ses collègues. Nous avons failli partir, heureusement que la serveuse a rectifié le tir avec son amabilité et don professionnalisme.
Sur la nourriture,c'est chère, vraiment pas bon : les pizzas sont molles, peu garni et pas très bonne et le menu enfant n'est pas mieux. 14 € pour un plat industriel très moyen (mon fils a d'ailleurs été malade) et une glace. Pour ce prix là, un sirop n'est même pas compris.
Bref, piège à touristes à fuir. Faites quelques mètres supplémentaires et vous trouverez beaucoup mieux autour.

13/03/2024: Great ambience and decor for mountain restaurant, just what you want. We shared the 1kg beef which came on the hotplate and continued to cook. It looked great, most of it was nice but there was a lot of fat and sinnew which negated a better rating. Also quite expensive as was the wine.
09/03/2024: Magnifique endroit typique de montagne avec sa belle cheminée. Très bon repas et personnel accueillant et souriant. À refaire sans problème

10/05/2026: The Totem hotel aims to be welcoming, the breakfast offers a multitude of homemade or local products, the evening buffet is quite varied, I recommend the second seating, admittedly less choice but with fewer children it is more peaceful.
10/05/2026: Enjoyable ski weekend
Rooms are adequate and functional, a bit compact.
Service was all round very good, friendly, polite, helpful, quite unnecessarily marred only by one officious little fellow.
Half-board food was very good (up to its 4* status) and we always looked forward to our well-earned suppers.
Location is brilliant and really makes the place.

13/04/2024: Verrassend lekker. Van salades, pasta’s en Chilli alles was lekker en zeer verzorgd. Zonnig terras om lekker te bekomen van de eerste pistes.
22/03/2024: Still extremely rude staff. We tried to get a bowl of water for our dog, after 20 mins of various staff acknowledging us but then ignoring the request. We were then told to ‘relax’. We said we are relaxed we haven’t even attempted to try to order food yet. Just wanted something for the dog! Food fairly average. Much better restaurant further down the slope - try La Pente A Jules instead. Much better!

19/03/2024: Jamais mangé une saucisse aussi mauvaise ! La saucisse-frites de base, avec des frites très convenables, mais une saucisse que j'ai du mal à définir. Et qu'aucun d'entre nous n'a mangé. Toutefois, le personnel était très sympa !

29/03/2024: Had dinner twice here with my wife & 2 daughters after a days skiing - both times the food and service were excellent. The pizzas are huge and very authentic, the burgers huge and very well cooked. My Tartiflette (triollege - 3 different Tartiflette's with different cheeses) was excellent and my wife's steak cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend this place more highly, a great find in Flaine!!

19/03/2024: We went to 1967 on a recommendation and honestly can’t speak highly enough of the place. By far our best meal out in Flaine. Somewhat uncertain about which cuts of meat to go for so asked for chef’s recommendation - 3kg between 9 of us, one veal and two beef and wow! Cooked to perfection and served with amazing mash, polenta and two sauces - mustard and truffle. Not cheap but 100% worth it. Will definitely be back.
16/02/2024: Food was really great and our waitress was lovely and very attentive. However it all went downhill when I went in to use the loo and was told by another lady that had to wait 5 min as she needed to clean it. 10 or 15 min later I go back and she’s just started cleaning, she then said it was open. A lady behind the bar then said it wasn’t and I needed to be patient and give it time to dry. I then saw the lady who cleaned the toilet serving food. Why would you clean the toilet during a busy lunchtime service unless it was flithy and if that was the case it should have been cleaned immediately!
