The restaurant was designed with over 200-year-old beams and floorboards and decorated with great attention to detail.
The food was also very good and the service was excellent.

01/10/2024: I was on my bike, looking for a bar in Samoëns to drink a little coke, and I came across this beautiful place and open by chance, which is rare in the off-season!!
What a lovely surprise, a terrible terrace with a crazy view, over the mountains, the interior, is terribly beautiful, and very cocooning, warm with a very beautiful decor 😍
I quickly hit it off with Stéphane, the very kind manager of the establishment!!
A pleasure to drink my little coke on the terrace, accompanied by very pleasant music, the little extra to have a good time.
It's sure, it's a great place to come back with friends to have a good time over a drink (or two🤪) and a good board (or two🤪🤣)

06/01/2026: Delicious food at a good price. They have a daily special. The service is very friendly. We tried the tartiflette, the risotto, and the lasagna, and we enjoyed everything.
05/01/2026: Average restaurant, decent prices and a friendly waiter, but the other ladies weren't exactly cheerful either. Given my previous experience at the local farm, I think it's a regional thing, lol.

I'll happily return. If you're passing through Samoëns, don't hesitate... take the time to stop for lunch, you won't be disappointed.

As for the meal, it's not worth the price, but then... Not at all.
Adding a little more charcuterie to the accompaniment of a Savoyard fondue for two people at the price of the plate would not be refused.

25/08/2024: Being in Samoëns for the holidays, we dined in this restaurant one evening, it was just a treat, a very warm little cocoon (you have to book to be sure of having space) but which I recommend to everyone everyone, it was excellent, well done to the whole team!

03/01/2026: A terrible experience at this hotel. Room 11, supposedly an economy room, cost €145!!!
Twin beds, despite having specifically requested a double room.
Bathroom with a tiny bathtub!!
A single sink next to the toilet.
Carpeted floor.
This room is absolutely to be avoided.
And to top it all off, the reception was completely impersonal...
25/09/2025: Another place where you can breathe tranquility, savoir vivre without forgetting the enchanting setting. Honestly recommended. Especially since I was sick and the owners didn't hesitate for a single moment to do their best and I thank them again 1000 times. Sure and certain that we will return.

03/02/2026: A perfect stay for our annual ski trip with friends. We felt very welcome in this hotel, decorated in typical Savoy style with a very cozy bar—not unimportant for us :). We love authenticity, and you have plenty of that here. The restaurant was also consistently surprisingly delicious and well-presented. But most importantly, the owners genuinely care about their guests. We are truly grateful and would love to return!
01/02/2026: A warm and welcoming family-run hotel, managed by a couple who take exceptional care of their guests.
Cozy decor, high-quality meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients. A fine wine list. The entire establishment is impeccably clean.
The shuttle bus that stops right in front of the hotel takes you to the Grand Massif gondola lift in just a few minutes. An address we wholeheartedly recommend!

04/08/2024: L’endroit qui vous attire par l’emplacement, ces différents espaces, sa décoration, la vitrine et les coulisses …. Un charme certain qui s’efface en présence de guêpes, car pas agréable pour tout le monde, de cohabiter avec elles. Et ce qui ne faut surtout pas faire à la montagne : proposer l’assiette du randonneur à 18,50 avec 2 tranches de jambon blanc + 2 tranches de jambon cru + 1 pomme de terre + 1 terrine dans son pot de verre + cornichons. (Jambons qui ressemblent en goût et à la vue au jambon que j’achète à Intermarché au rayon frais.). Pourquoi griller 10 jours de déjeuner et/ou goûter et/ou dîner soit un CA potentiel 500€ minimum pour du jambon basique ?
20/07/2024: Endroit très sympathique, situé en plein centre du village, ce petit restaurant propose le pouvoir déjeuner tranquille au centre sur une petite terrasse très sympa, nous avons pris une tartiflette ce avec une bonne salade. La vinaigrette était splendide. le service parfait, nous avons pas attendu. Cette endroit propose des produits locaux fait maison. Vous trouverez de tout ce qui se fait de bon dans ce pays.

30/08/2024: Fantastic stay at Gai Soleil. The owners are warm and welcoming. Be sure to leave room for their delicious dinner. We enjoyed drinks in their garden bar, perfect for a post hike pick me up. Super comfortable beds. I hope to stay here again one day! Merci pour la visite.
