28/08/2024: Disappointing experience with the mountain salad for €15, there are 4 sticks of cheese placed on 1 slice of raw ham in pieces…
26/08/2024: A big plus for the appetizer which was hummus. Bravo for the initiative.
Be careful with the other dishes, however: the pasta had no taste and was overcooked while the chocolate cake was overcooked inside.
The service was good otherwise.

11/01/2025: A place with a spectacular atmosphere! There is a pool table, babyfoot, card games, a dart board, and a wide variety of drinks and cocktails... In addition, different spaces to please all types of clients. We went as a family and had a great time! I recommend it 100%

26/01/2025: I ate a very good Savoyard fondue at a reasonable price and what's more, the friendly owner served me a little digestive.

19/01/2025: Very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We had a fondue bourguignonne for two at €29/person. We were served a small bowl each of meat, two potatoes and two large salad leaves with fried onions. When I asked for more meat (thinking they were serving a little at a time), the waitress told me it was extra for an extra bowl. The quantities are not at all suitable for an adult, man or woman. I don't recommend it given the price and quantity.

I've already been to your restaurant three times. I can assure you that your waitress, a blonde woman, spoke to us very, very badly. There was no hello or goodbye, never seen before.
I have nothing against the food, because it was really good.
But your waitress, a woman I think is the owner's daughter, was very angry every time, never smiled, and always put down.
This is the last time. I won't be going back, despite the owner being super, super nice. Nothing to complain about, and the little girl who serves us very kindly too.
Thank you for changing your waitress.

18/08/2024: Got terrible service. The people speaking English in front of us were given a table without a reservation. I asked for a table and the service staff said no. The French people behind us without a reservation were seated. I double checked and again and they said no. We walked back past (after having an excellent meal elsewhere) and the same server recognised us and pulled the door shut in my face. I have travelled extensively and never had such rude and obnoxious service. Put a dampener on our whole trip and totally ruined my impression of French service. Would not recommend. Negative 5 stars for terrible and non-welcoming service…
18/08/2024: Catastrophic! One star for the waiter, however, at €22 for a burger, we say we're in for a treat. To summarize, uncooked frozen fries, burger not at all presentable and tasteless, certainly poor quality products. Worse than McDonald's to flee.

25/08/2024: The place is great, however the cuisine has become Americanized and leaves something to be desired: burger (presumably frozen fries), meat, meat, meat, and more meat.
The so-called vegetarian salad was very good (although low in protein and carbohydrate intake), but only one dish on the menu without meat is average in 2024 (historically it was omelette, Saint-Félicien in the oven, pot au feu , andouillette gratin, etc.).
22/08/2024: Perfect for a ski lunch break or a drink at the end of the day! The magnificent view, the service and the quality products! A must in the Alps! And long live the génep! 🤪

24/05/2024: The sporting is a high end bar / restaurant. The drinks were fantastic but the food was expensive for what it was worth. We ordered deer with potatoes and chestnuts, it came in a big pot, the meat was warm but not hot, we struggled to actually find the chestnuts. This said the ambiance and decor reminded us of a british hunting club and there was live music. The bar was good but the restaurant needs to relook their prices.

Ça fait 30 ans que nous venons à l'Alpe d'huez et que nous connaissons bon nombre de restaurants dont le Sporting qui vient de changer de proprietaire.
Quand on veut monter en gamme un des endroits emblématiques de l'Alpe il ne faut pas se cantonner à refaire la déco...
Si on veut déjeuner tardivement à l'extérieur (14 heures) c'est trop tard...cuisines fermées!
Si on veut prendre un verre à 18h30 à l'intérieur (en Février) c'est trop tard les tables sont posées et le bar inaccessible !
Un bar restaurant soit disant branché...pas très tolérants pas du tout commerçant .
Petit conseil révisez votre copie pour la prochaine saison car a trop vouloir offrir des horaires strictes sur les before ski les after ski les ceci les cela rien n'est souple et détendu comme devrait être un établissement pour des vacanciers en quête d'un bel endroit!
