27/09/2026: A lovely little bistro along the Heron lake and in the heart of Villeneuve d'Ascq. The set menus are between 20 and 26 euros for a starter, main course, and dessert, which is very reasonable.

06/10/2026: What a pleasure it was to eat at this place! We were greeted with a smile from beginning to end. The portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. There were four of us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you for the after-dinner drinks. PLEASE DON'T CHANGE A THING. As I'm often in Paris, I'll definitely be back.

02/10/2026: We went on a Friday evening with a reservation. The meal was exceptional; we had the Camembert and pâté as starters, followed by two suckling pigs as main courses. The portions were generous and very tasty. The staff was very friendly! I highly recommend it, and I will definitely be back!!

18/09/2026: A very pleasant restaurant. The staff is very welcoming, and the service is perfect. The dishes and desserts are excellent. In good weather, the terrace allows you to enjoy an outdoor meal in an intimate setting. One of my favorite places!

06/08/2026: Best described as a motel, in appearance and proximity to the motorway, this was a very economical option for my work trip. Good, polite and efficient service on reception, and they had quickly reassured me in advance that my potential late arrival would not be a problem (despite a warning from Hotels.com that check-in closed at 10pm). I should say, I was communicating in French, so did not test their English skills. Though there was great potential for noise, I did not hear a thing from outside, or from being close to neighbours (they may have had only a few guests, but at least it seemed they hadn't put me in a room adjacent to anyone else). An important element for me was the parking, of which there was certainly enough and - crucially - it was free. Unusually in my experience for a three-star place there were coffee and tea making facilities, though I just had one tea bag! Great shower with one of those overhead attachments. Room interior all looked recently refreshed, with only minor bits of wear and tear visible. Excellent internet speeds (I got 78mbps up and down). Only two issues - it took me a while to work out the quirky blind system on the windows, though I can largely put that down to my poor mechanical intellect, and with no lift (it's a motel), rooms on the 'upper level' become more challenging with heavy bags. With the location ideal for me, I think I got a bargain and would happily stay again if needs be.

04/07/2026: The staff were pleasant, however, if you're planning a family trip, this isn't ideal: the bathroom doesn't lock (and there's only one chair for two people). If you're looking for exceptional cleanliness, this isn't ideal either: stained cushions, crumbs on the floor, and even a long hair... the shower head sprays everywhere, and there's a musty smell as soon as you enter the room. Then there's the cleaning lady who enters the room at 10 am, knowing that check-out is at noon. On the other hand, the staff are very pleasant, the hotel is well-located, and parking is available.

03/10/2026: Not everything is homemade. It's expensive for an all-you-can-eat buffet. First time here and I'm disappointed. The waiter was very helpful.

06/09/2026: A superb discovery! La Terrasse du Héron is truly an exceptional place. The restaurant is very pleasant, the welcome is warm, and the service is impeccable. The food is absolutely delicious: the dishes are beautifully presented, and the ingredients are top-quality. Everything was perfect, from the appetizer to the dessert! 😍 A special mention for the team, who are incredibly attentive and greatly contribute to making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant, whether for a meal with family, friends, or simply for a wonderful time. We will definitely be back! ❤️

03/09/2026: ⭐️⭐️ Today, I stopped by for a smoothie and a pain au chocolat. I had just finished a photoshoot in the neighborhood, and my goal at that moment was quite simple: to sit down for a few minutes, relax, and enjoy something delicious. 😂 The smoothie was good and refreshing. The pain au chocolat was decent, but nothing to write home about. 🇫🇷🥐 The little tragedy occurred when it came time to be served. 😅 I got the feeling that the young woman who served me got annoyed simply because I touched the tray to pick up my own order, even though it had already been paid for. Her gesture and attitude seemed rather unfriendly, and unfortunately, that was my first impression of the place. After this little adventure, I went to the restroom, retrieved my order, and ultimately decided to eat in peace and quiet in my car. My car may not have table service, but at least no one was offended because I touched my own tray. 😂 I obviously wasn't expecting a red carpet, violins, or a presidential welcome. Just a little kindness and friendliness. In the end, I didn't really feel "at home." And that's a shame, because it's precisely these little gestures that make you want to come back to a place. Life is too short to try to do everything politically correct. Sometimes, a smile, a kind gesture, and a little empathy are more than enough. Two stars for the smoothie and for the hope that my next visit will tell a completely different story. ❤️
