30/11/2024: Edit: after many evenings ah Carolus since this review, I confirm that this bar is great!! I celebrated my 30th birthday at Carolus last Saturday and I had a great evening! Very good experience. I contacted the bar well in advance for this reservation because I wanted to make the evening unforgettable; I had ordered a photo booth and an activity via external service providers and the manager happily accepted! The bar organized a buffet (hot & cold) which we agreed together in advance. The system for ordering drinks in the back room (via a screen) is very well thought out and prevents everyone from spending the evening waiting behind the bar. Overall I got everything I wanted; good communication, everyone was very caring and helpful throughout the organization! Staff & manager(s) VERY friendly and warm; there was a small hiccup with the reservation time but we were compensated for a longer happy hour; knowing, basicly, that the bar is still very affordable! Conclusion I had an excellent evening, as did all my guests!

We are English and our French is very poor, the staff were very accommodating, welcoming and helped us understand the menu. Very reasonably priced for such a fantastic meal. 06/07/2025: Chez Ginette is a picturesque cafe located on the corner of Montmartre towards the Sacré-Coeur. I stopped by during a stroll, and the avocado toast here was unforgettably delicious! I sat at a small round table on the terrace, typical of Paris, and ordered avocado toast. What was brought to me was a beautiful dish of toasted bread topped with plenty of bright green avocado. The balance of creamy and fresh avocado, slightly sour dressing, and crispy bread was exquisite! The simple dish allowed the quality of the ingredients and careful workmanship to shine. I enjoyed the avocado toast with delicious coffee while watching the people passing by and the typical Montmartre buildings. It was a rich and fulfilling time, as if I had blended into everyday Paris. The warm atmosphere, which seems to be loved not only by tourists but also by locals, was very comfortable. If you're looking for a delicious brunch or light lunch in Montmartre, Chez Ginette is one of your best options.

02/12/2024: We chose this restaurant on Friday evening as a family for a special occasion, attracted by its good reputation and high prices which gave hope for a quality experience. Unfortunately, our evening was marked by great disappointment. The service was shared between two waitresses: one was very friendly, the other much less so. However, we remained confident until subsequent events completely changed our minds. I had shared a prime rib with my sister, and both of us got sick after that meal, obviously victims of food poisoning. I was sick for three days, with severe symptoms, even feeling faint. The next day, we contacted the restaurant to alert them, in the interest of future customers. However, the person on the phone – who we suspect was the rude waitress – not only questioned our words, but was particularly aggressive and dismissive, refusing to acknowledge any responsibility. If you've ever experienced food poisoning, you know it's hard to get the cause wrong. This kind of experience is inexcusable, especially coming from an establishment claiming to offer quality cuisine. In conclusion, we strongly advise against this restaurant. To avoid.

23/09/2024: The little brother of Uncle des dames....I preferred the atmosphere of that one, more airy....the cuisine is the same, the meat is still just as good....

15/09/2024: The lady who is believe was the manager was so helpful & could even speak English and they had an English menu available too. The food was absolutely incredible, I really recommend the escargots & the beef bougignon. We visited before the moulin rouge show which is just a couple of minutes walk away.

21/07/2024: Traditional French cuisine restaurant. Finally a small, warm restaurant where you can taste traditional recipes. We ate foi gras with potatoes and truffles, duck, beef bourguignon. Everything exquisite. The owner and also the waitress were very friendly and passionate. Advised.

09/01/2025: Desearía haber encontrado este lugar en el primer día en París! Pasé 4 días en enero y fui a este restaurante para mi cena de cumpleaños. Basado en el pueblo de Montmartre. Nos sentimos muy malcriados tanto la comida como el vino excelente. Comida no solo deliciosa, sino que se presentó teatralmente. Anfitrión muy amable y acogedor una experiencia verdaderamente francesa.
