17/04/2026: We booked at the last minute. The lovely weather made us want to have lunch on the terrace. Not easy with a family of nine! My choice of this restaurant delighted everyone, young and old. The dishes were very tasty and the value for money was excellent. And the service was top-notch. Well done to the whole team! It's a shame to leave Sare. We would have come back.
08/04/2026: Lovely place to stop for a meal. The service is wonderful and accommodating, the setting is beautiful. The food was delicious and the local fish was ethereal. I’m glad I had the crème brûlée even though I was full as it was delicious. I’ll be back for the food, the see ice and the views.

31/10/2025: A truly excellent value for money option for a stay in Sare, with easy and free parking around the hotel. Impeccable service, a spacious and well-appointed room, and absolute peace and quiet.
Although somewhat dated, this hotel easily ticks all the boxes for a great stay for couples or families.

19/04/2026: Fifteen years later, I return, and something falls back into place. No theatrics, no attempt to impress. Just a house, people, a way of welcoming that can't be manufactured. You sit down, and the rhythm changes. People speak more quietly, look around, breathe differently. At a certain point, you understand that you haven't come to "eat at a restaurant," but to be received somewhere. And that, today, is almost a luxury. The cuisine embodies this same truth: simple in appearance, but full of flavor. I still think about that poached egg, and that pavlova, devoured in an instant. Nothing tries to impress, and yet everything lingers.

11/04/2026: Shameful! Panini burgers with a sort of teaspoonful of minced meat, tasteless, and ridiculously overpriced. A truly awful experience, I won't forget it.

27/08/2024: Nous avons déjeuné (en réservant la veille) en famille, 2 couples, avant de prendre le train de la Rhune. Magnifique salle et terrasse donnant sur un merveilleux jardin. La carte est simple, gage de produits de qualité. Nous n'avons pas été déçu, ni de la qualité des produits, ni de la quantité ni de la présentation. Les assiettes composées portent bien leur nom, le pavé de truite un vrai régal, les desserts un vrai régal notamment le cèpe meringué. Le service était efficace avec des serveuses souriantes et toujours avec un petit mot sympathique.
Merci à vous de proposer une telle cuisinée à prix abordable sans nous prendre pour "des touristes". Cerise sur le gâteau, on nous a proposé de laisser notre voiture sur leur parking pendant notre ballade à La Rhune

21/08/2024: Endroit incontournable depuis des années ! Le menu est simple et efficace. La vue est à couper le souffle. Le personnel accueillant. Possibilité de faire des grandes tablées de 15 personnes !!!
20/08/2024: Wonderful location in a lush Basque oak forest with great views just over the border in Spain. The food is simple but exquisite, mainly with Basque charcuterie as a starter and a selection of omelettes as a main. The omelette with cep mushrooms is delicious and the whiskey ice cream dessert cake is just exceptional that we had to go for an extra helping ! You can take a relaxing walk in the surrounding forest after lunch as well. Booking is a must as otherwise you risk doing the trip for nothing.

07/08/2024: Repas copieux, goûteux a un prix imbattable. On a pas trouvé mieux. Quand quantité rime avec qualité avec en plus un service bienveillant et chaleureux, on ne va plus chercher ailleurs.
06/07/2024: petit déjeuner excellent,avec un grand choix de produits régionaux de qualité,préparé avec soin,avec une hygiène irréprochable.Un vrai régal pour les yeux et les papilles.
