03/04/2026: Chanchan and his team are on top form, more than ever. We enjoyed a delicious meal in a friendly atmosphere, chatting with other diners. The chef has fully recovered, and the reopening was a success. Here, you can eat homemade fries! The charm and quality of Croix-Rousse are right here at the "business" 😋

The bread is exceptional and keeps for ages!!
Their pumpkin brioche...seasonal, but simply incredible!
Anyway...see you soon, bakers...I'll be emptying the attic soon...
24/03/2026: I was looking for something sweet to eat and I found this bakery. They have many creations that look amazing. I went for a "briochette coco" that was delicious.

05/03/2026: An interesting experience at a traditional Lyonnais bistro that didn't serve what is precisely the hallmark of such a dish: a simple Lyonnaise salad.
I regret that the waitstaff didn't even have the presence of mind, or the desire to please a customer, to ask the kitchen if it was possible. Perhaps it would have been too much of a challenge to gather these simple ingredients (each of which is on the menu) to try and adhere to what defines our culinary traditions and, let's face it, our pride.
As a native of Lyon, I had to settle for half a Saint-Marcellin cheese, which was very good nonetheless.
In short, aiming to be a high-end bistro is all well and good; remembering your roots is even better. If we need reminding, Le Petit Paumé (another Lyonnais institution) provides a fine definition of what we have the right to expect from a traditional Lyonnais bistro.

05/04/2026: We spent an evening there with friends. We initially came to eat, but were a little disappointed by the rather limited food options. However, we eventually found something we liked, and it was delicious!
It's also worth noting that the atmosphere is very pleasant, and the service is very friendly :)

31/01/2026: My husband and I visited this lovely restaurant for dinner. Like another reviewer commented, it seemed like an episode of "Cheers" because everyone greeted one another with smiles and hugs. The staff contributed to the sense of friendliness and were so welcoming. We were impressed at the menu: it wasn't too big to make it hard to choose, but it still had good variety. My husband is a vegetarian, and they didn't have a vegetarian options for the main dish so they made one of the starters as an larger portion. And it was so yummy: ravioli with goat cheese and tomatoes with a light, lemony white wine sauce. The review will not be complete without mentioning our server Adrien. He was the perfect balance of professional and fun, very attentive and anticipated our needs. I joked he was a mind-reader. His English was perfect, but he spoke French with us and was patient with our attempts to speak. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, if you find yourself in the Crois Rousse neighborhood of Lyon, this little restaurant is worth a visit. Bon appétit!

13/02/2026: I'm new to Croix-Rousse, and I've found my bakery. There's a good selection, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is friendly. It's exactly what I expect from a shop I frequent almost every day. Special mention for the Tropézienne tart, which I would describe as "oh my god" ;)

The music was too loud, making it difficult to talk.
The food was so-so, including the salmon poke bowl (the salmon wasn't very fresh).
The servers weren't very friendly.

17/09/2025: I regularly go for coffee and meet clients at this magnificent establishment. The welcome is warm and subtle, and the seating areas are very comfortable. It's both calm and lively. The view of the pool from the dining room or the terrace is an undeniable plus.

01/07/2025: Jolivet Bakery offers a good selection of breads and pastries, using fresh ingredients and excellent craftsmanship. The bread is nice and crisp, and the pastries are decent, although some could be lighter or more original.
The service is friendly, but sometimes a little slow when it's busy. The location is pleasant, but could be a little warmer to make the experience more welcoming.
Overall, a reliable bakery where you can find quality classics, even if you're not yet a firm favorite. Perfect for a quick stop or an everyday purchase.

02/08/2024: I returned to brunch in this restaurant after a really pleasant first experience, which motivated me to come back. However, this time, the experience unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.
First of all, although we booked for 1:15 p.m., we had to wait outside for 10-15 minutes, as did other people. Once seated, we had to ask a waiter to bring us a menu or to explain to us how the brunch worked, which should have been done on initiative, especially for those who might be there for the first time.
As for the buffet, it was much smaller and of lower quality than during my first visit. When we arrived, Nutella and red fruit jam were missing, and we were informed that there would be no more. This is unacceptable, especially at this price, which has also increased since our last visit. It would have been easy to go and buy these basic products, which are neither bulky nor perishable in the short term.
The quantity of plates has also decreased. I noticed that the toasts with scrambled eggs were huge on other customers' plates, but on mine, I struggled to find the egg, probably a leftover preparation.
Regarding the server team, with the exception of one person, they all seemed in a bad mood or generally unfriendly.
I regret this development in such a short time. I was delighted during my first visit, but very disappointed during the second. Unfortunately, this disappointment fully justifies my rating.
