14/03/2024: We were in Meribel Village for 5 days - we tried this restaurant on our third night and went back again on our last night! We were besotted - the setting is lovely, in a really cosy and rustic traditional French cavern-type room. Our waiter was perfect, he remembered all our orders from our first visit and was so knowledgeable and easy-going. I would highly recommend the steak - but when saying how you would like it cooked, bear in mind that the French cook their steak very lightly! The pepper sauce was exceptional with it. We had such lovely dinners here and couldn’t recommend it more.

03/04/2024: Had a great time at the FD yesterday but giving one star because they didn't let me use the bathroom on the way out at 4pm. THEY ARE CLOSED! I was told aggressively - particularly painful as I had just spent £2600 on lunch!

02/04/2024: If you are in Méribel, you absolutely must go to the sweet madness of Méribel Courchevel. We think this one is clearly the best in the Alps thanks to Vanessa who sets a crazy atmosphere and a sublime voice. Well done to her and the whole team.

21/03/2024: I had lunch at the self service section and the food was not great. I ordered the beef burger. The buns were soggy already. When I took a bite there was so much oil and water dripping everywhere. The burger tasted terrible. The fries were ok though. The view is great from the terrace outside. But sadly that doesn't make up for the absolutely terrible food.

21/03/2024: Booked the actual restaurant today only to turn up and the elderly lady knew nothing about it. From the beginning she was negative at our group and unhappy she had to serve 14 people. By insisting we look at menu whilst we waited for our friends she gave the distinct impression to us all we couldnt afford it. She served us wine whilst we waited for our friends who turned up on the reservation time only to make a fuss about how many of us there was! We rnded up habing to usecthe tske away restaurant Our ski school guide informed us this happened to her a few years ago. AVOID at all costs. The elderly lady gave the distinct impression she really only wanted to serve French people even though people in our party spoke fluent French....and when two parties of French people turned up they had no problem being served quickly. Shocking service!!!

26/02/2024: Simple and efficient, smiling kitchen team serving. The only downside is the relatively expensive price. 1 steak and fries + 1 beer and blueberry tart, 1 orange juice and a portion of fries 🍟 = 55 euros

21/02/2024: Excessive prices... +4 euros on certain dishes in 1 year, that's more than the inflation that has gone through... Ridiculous size of steak in the burger, which by the way is not great... Ditto for the fondue, very/too liquid... Difficult to find cheese among the fat in the fondue pot... Not to mention the stomach aches throughout the night... Although the waitresses are friendly, service shipped in less than an hour...

03/04/2024: Very friendly and warm welcome, but our room was a little dated and the lighting and sockets are not really up to standard. Another subject, the brasserie l'Authentique where we dined with again very friendly service, served us a Savoyard fondue - more expensive than anywhere else - which must undoubtedly have been a sachet fondue from the mass market because, being Savoyard, I know how to recognize a real fondue from a ready-made one; we had the opportunity to taste another one near the hotel which had nothing to do - fortunately - with that of l'Authentique. To accompany it, we took a Chignin, unfortunately an uninteresting cooperative wine but charged €41 when two restaurants in Méribel and Mottaret offered us a Chignin from André Quénard which was an aromatic marvel at a price of €27 and €31. I imagine that most foreigners don't notice anything but I find that it harms the image of MontVallon. That being said, I would not hesitate to return to the hotel which is really very pleasant and so well located. Thank you to the whole team for their welcome and see you soon I hope. 31/03/2024: Ideally located for ski in / ski out. Staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Rooms could use an upgrade (bathrooms and lighting).

04/04/2024: Waitress was bolshy. Nobody was very attentive. Waitress left after only letting us order 2 starters, she couldn’t understand that we wanted to order main courses as well! Had to find someone else to help.

03/04/2024: Nice people. Really cozy with cool decorations. Pasta was a little bit cold, but still really good. There was enough bread, cheese, sauce.

14/03/2024: Charging €10 cover charge because you share a pizza and a salad is just bonkers. Nothing to indicate this on the menu. Restaurant wasn’t busy at 21.30. Basically paid £50 for 1 pizza, a tasteless green salad we didn’t want and 2 drinks. It used to be a great restaurant but not anymore. Avoid!

03/03/2024: A magnificent restaurant with a good atmosphere but the value for money is not there! It’s a shame, it’s way too expensive for what it is. 2 and a half years ago we had a great time but now it's not up to our expectations! We won't come back there again!

04/03/2024: I couldn't believe how snobby some of these reviews were. "Shampoo at the lowest quality" 🤣 you aren't going to a hotel for their shampoo. I couldn't rate this place highly enough. Gregory the host at reception was so accommodating to us. I fell sick during my stay, they helped source doctors, pharmacies and even let us stay in the room for a later checkout as our Chalet check in wasn't ready till later in the day to help recover. Gregory was an absolute star, helped with all our bags in and out, room service was top notch and the extra help with our medical situation. 10/10 will be visiting again and would recommend it to anyone.

04/03/2024: Someone wants to go to this hotel instead of me? For medical reasons I will not be able to come from March 28-31.03, but the hotel refuses to make a refund, although before booking a month citing the policy. Except that usually when there are medical reasons, even airlines refund, but not this hotel. So I'm ready to sell my reservation. I'm sure it's cheaper than making a new one.
