07/09/2026: I loved my experience at Boken; I felt like I was in the middle of a Shibuya, I was truly swimming in happiness. You can feel the family atmosphere and the warm, welcoming service. In short, if you're hesitating, go for it without hesitation.

23/08/2026: It's as if the manga spirit of this restaurant has gradually vanished… Our first disappointment, even before setting foot inside: it was impossible to make a reservation. No one answered the phone or messages. So, we showed up on August 22nd without a reservation, and precisely because it was impossible to reach anyone, we decided to arrive early. At 11:45 am, we were in front of the restaurant, which was supposed to open at noon. The waiter arrived at 12:05 pm, calmly began preparing the dining room… and we were finally able to go in around 12:15 pm. Unfortunately, the welcome immediately set the tone: a simple "hello," and that was about it. The waiter was very uncommunicative and made absolutely no effort to immerse us in the atmosphere of the place. In a restaurant with such a strong Japanese and manga theme, you might expect a few words, a catchy phrase, an explanation of how things work… Don't count on it. We were seated in the basement, in a windowless room, which some might find rather oppressive. However, the decor is undeniably striking and quite appealing: it's everywhere, and the overall visual style is well done. There's no physical menu; you have to scan a QR code. Another surprise: the menu displayed outside the restaurant doesn't match the one available online. For example, the taro jam bubble tea we had our eye on was gone. Again, no explanation was given; we figured it out on our own. The menu ultimately offers relatively few choices, which, in a way, could be reassuring if it means the ingredients are better prepared. We ordered our main dishes and milk-based bubble teas. The server then informed us that they were out of tapioca pearls. In an establishment that so heavily promotes bubble tea, it's quite surprising... They offered to replace the tapioca with syrup pearls. However, in some of the milk bubble teas, especially the caramel ones, the combination seemed frankly unsatisfactory. So we decided to skip the drinks. Then came the main courses. They were okay, but nothing special. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. As for my katsudon, I've had much better. The dish was edible, but I didn't even finish the rice because it was swimming in a significant amount of sweet soy sauce at the bottom of the bowl. In the end, it was frankly sickening. And the service didn't improve. Despite the lack of bubble tea, we weren't offered any water. In fact, nothing was offered to us spontaneously throughout the entire meal. I had to go get salt and pepper myself. The server was practically absent from the dining area, except to bring the food and take payment. This is ultimately where the concept shows its limitations: yes, there's a lot of decoration, but you can't rely on it entirely. A world isn't just a few manga, figurines, masks, and consoles arranged in a room. Children will probably enjoy it since they can play video games, try on masks, and appreciate the decor. For us adults, the experience was unfortunately extremely disappointing. It's all the more unfortunate because you can tell that there must have been a real vision and probably genuine passion behind this restaurant when it opened. Today, we mostly felt that this spirit had been lost along the way. We even wondered if the establishment had changed owners, as the Japanese atmosphere that the place should convey seems so absent from the welcome and the overall experience. To my great regret, despite a concept that had everything going for it, I don't recommend this restaurant.

08/08/2026: A great time, a quiet and clean place with super friendly staff!! Very affordable price

06/08/2026: Prices have gone up, plus there's no air conditioning; once you're seated at a table it gets very hot in the summer.

22/08/2026: I find it very unfortunate to leave a review focusing more on the service than the products, but given the mediocrity of the latter, it outweighs the negative. It's a real shame. The staff are truly unpleasant, adopting an impossible tone towards customers; they are consistently negative. Unacceptable attitude. I will never set foot in this store again. Deeply disappointed by the contemptuous attitude of one of the saleswomen. If customer service is a problem, then they shouldn't have any customer service at all.
