23/03/2026: We are on a touring holiday in France (from U.K.) and found this wonderful restaurant. We hear about these special places and today we found the perfect traditional French restaurant. The 3 course meal and coffee was excellent value, excellent quality and excellent friendly service. Vive La France, Vive L’Imprevu!
17/02/2026: This is a great restaurant. We arrived around noon and were seated immediately without any wait. The service was smooth and quick, with minimal waiting. It's a five out of five for value for money. The food is excellent and not very expensive. The staff is friendly and welcoming. A very good restaurant, 5/5.

Restaurant Le Lion d'Or

10/03/2026: Everything in this well-located little hotel is designed to ensure guest satisfaction: a warm welcome and attentive staff, a comfortable room, private parking, a restaurant with delicious food (our dog 🐕 loved it too 😃). The value for money is also excellent; we highly recommend this establishment and will gladly return.
04/02/2026: What a delightful surprise this restaurant was!!...a client, Evelyne, whom I met in Chauvigny, recommended it for lunch...easy to get to and a very pleasant atmosphere...
The staff were incredibly attentive and caring (they cleared away breadcrumbs between courses and changed cutlery after each course...) and the lunch menu included an exceptionally tender and moist stew...the starter was divine and the dessert lived up to the rest of the meal...in short, a truly wonderful experience that I highly recommend!!

15/02/2026: This was a pleasant surprise for me; it was a very good restaurant.
The young waitress was charming and smiling 😊
I found the wait a bit long, being the only customers at the time.
And I do find the prices rather high.
It would be nice to have some background music for the customers or a TV to help pass the time.
29/12/2025: Passing through the area on a Sunday after 1 p.m., we decided to try this crêperie. The savory crêpes were very good, especially the one with leek fondue and trout. The pasta with trout was delicious. The sweet crêpes were divine, with homemade salted caramel and fragrant batter.
The price is high, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Hotel Restaurant Beausejour

16/11/2025: The Logis Hôtel-Restaurant Beauséjour in Chauvigny is a truly delightful surprise, both warm and authentic, offering excellent value for money. From the moment you arrive, the façade evokes a slightly vintage, family atmosphere, bringing back fond memories of road trips with my grandparents in the 1980s. It's a simple and genuine ambiance, the kind you find less and less these days.
The hotel is quiet, both on the street side and the courtyard side, yet ideally located: the town center is only about 200 meters away, perfect for exploring Chauvigny on foot.
The recently renovated rooms are pleasant, clean, and perfectly suited for a good night's sleep. They have everything you need without any unnecessary extras, but with a quality that clearly exceeds what you would expect in this category. The restaurant is undoubtedly one of the establishment's greatest assets: a spacious, relaxing dining room, and a set menu for just €16 (starter + main course + dessert) with four or five choices at each course. The menus change weekly, and it shows: the cuisine, prepared by the owner himself, features quality French ingredients, is expertly prepared, generous, and authentic. The food is truly excellent.
All the staff are welcoming, friendly, and attentive, which further enhances the enjoyment of your stay.
For me, it's simply the best value for money in Chauvigny. An address to recommend without hesitation, whether for a stopover or a longer stay.
11/11/2025: The service was perfect, and the home-style cooking was excellent. The decor is a bit minimalist and retro, but this is more than compensated for by the quality of the welcome.
