25/07/2026: Visiting after the reopening of the tropical pavilion, we were disappointed: the focus has been placed on screens, small, medium, and very large. It was sad to see that pixelated fish on giant screens serve as an aquarium in the children's area... We saw everything in less than an hour and a half and regret that the ticket price remains so high for what it has become.
25/07/2026: One of the great aquariums of the world.
However, there think they should advertise that a major hall is closed presently. This was very disappointing.
It’s a huge complex and needs half a day **at least** to see it all.
There is a very strong focus on education and one of the halls (Océanautes) is absolutely dedicated to educating children at primary school level. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum or wildlife centre as laser-focused on education.
It is apparently very busy much of the day but if you get a two-day pass (Océan Pass) you can go in late on (say 4pm) and there are very few people there.
One disappointment was the lack of English (or any foreign language books) for sale in the large shop: this surely is a missed commercial opportunity.
